Former aides to President Barack Obama admitted on an episode of "Pod Save America" they should have done "some of the stuff" President Donald Trump is doing with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

When discussing DOGE’s initiatives to cut federal spending, the "Obama bros" admitted to "lamenting" their situation. Jon Lovett, a former Obama speechwriter, implied he "didn’t know" the executive branch could radically cut federal spending as the Trump administration has done.

"Honestly, some of this is pretty annoying because it’s some of the stuff we should’ve done. We didn’t know you could do some of this," Lovett said.

Jon Favreau, also a former Obama speechwriter, shared Lovett’s frustration, admitting the Obama administration tried to cut through bureaucracy and create government efficiency, but "it’s hard to do."

And “historians” and msm try to rank Obama as one of the alltime great presidents lmao!! “We didn’t know you could do that”. If he weren’t the first black president and were a republican, he’d be ranked in the bottom 3. Which is exactly where his ass belongs.

What a crock. Obama had the most corrupt Presidency of my lifetime. And yes, Biden is 4 more years of Obama's administration.

Costs, programs and agencies can be reduced or eliminated and there are legal processes for that which in many cases Trump is not following and he's being sued in court as a result.
There isn't one program or agency not specifically delineated in Constitution that can't be eliminated as easily as it was created. There was no "Department of Education" prior to 1979. Prior to 1960, there was no USAID spending millions on things like transsexuals' sensitivity training in Sudan! Prior to 1972, there was no EPA. Thanks Nixon.

Read the Constitution.........and power or role of Judicial Branch.
DOGE is just reporting on what it finds . Trump's administration is taken action, what's illegal? Those bitching are bitching about him gaining access and Trump can grant me access to anything he wants . People bitching hate DOGE using "X" to be fully transparent on his findings and they know they can't hide anymore. Hopefully this helps the turnover in DC.

DOE is just a EO that's been threatened by a couple president's not getting funded by teachers unions.

@moe tell us why it's "Constitutional" to spend millions on programs few of us even know anything about yet it's not "un Constitutional" to borrow money running up unpayable debts for these mysterious programs then sticking taxpayers with interest payments on the due bills?

Who's money is it anyway @moe...the bureaucrats spending it, or the folks footing the bills?

I can't answer that honestly, I'd be exposed as a fraud and Constitutional ignoramus while I'm trying to uphold a faux reputation on this board that I'm not either!

It would help moe to educate himself on basic US government that he should’ve learned in the public school system. He was probably skipping school that day and letting his gay buddies plow him.

Since 'ol @moe there is so concerned about the Constitution, I wonder if he can explain the Constitutional process to reduce or eliminate funding for specific agencies NOT specifically mentioned in the Constitution?

For instance there is a Constitutional process for allocating Federal funding, however let's see if he can sight the Constitutional process for eliminating funding for specific agencies?

How about it @moe ...explain to us the Constitutional process for eliminating funding to USAID, EPA, HUD, NIH, DOE, & the departments of Commerce, Interior, & Transportation? Cite the specific section of Constitutional authority you're promoting in your answer please?

Get real atl, what do I look like, some sort of self described "expert" on the Constitution?

Well reading your posts in this thread and others @moe you sure seem certain Trump is violating the Constitution for even considering the recommendations of his DOGE initiatives right?

Those were YOUR words @moe , so you should easily be able to back up on what Constitutional or legal basis you posted such drivel? 🤨

So now I'm convinced you're only doing this to basically shut me up then embarrass the Hell out of me proving I'm nothing but a clueless loud mouthed Left wing TDS infected dumbass!

Gotta hand it to 'ya @moe , 'ya finally figured me out! Can't get anything over on you let me tell 'ya boy...whew!

I think what democrats are saying is the president can stop all those going forward but can't stop what Congress has already authorized.
What democrats can't stop is DOGE tracking where the money is actually going and making it public. They can't stop DOGE from looking at records and making public what politicians is getting kick backs . I think all this blows up in democrats faces bigly

There is nothing in the Constitution or statutory Law that prevents the Executive branch from re-directing Federal resources allocated by the Congress, or spending what's been allocated more efficiently. Nothing.

The Left knows this, because that's exactly how they've been funding all these sham programs for decades! Now they're upset because they've been exposed, and their gravy train is being de-railed!

Perhaps you should look at some of the individuals that are gaining access and their past connections. Just a suggestion.

Which processes is Trump not following ? Please be specific. I'm sure the new DOJ will check into your claims.

The same puppetry crowd that were Obama's puppeteer were the same far left nuts that did the same with Binden.

While you "hide" behind your government influenced media hacks designed to pillory and smear Trump's DOGE initiative, I'll bet YOU didn't know his "renamed" initiative is something that was already up and legally running?

It was your Socialist sympathizer Zero (aka Barrack Obama) who first created the Congressional authorization for "DOGE" which Trump has simply renamed and reconstituted to guess what @moe ????...MAKE GOVERNENT SERVICES MORE EFFICIENT !!!!!

Imagine that? So every point in your Government propaganda piece is nothing but Left wing hackery because the very agency that article spent several paragraphs trying to convince dolts like YOU is illegal has in fact already been in operation for over a decade! They didn't tell you that while they were brainwashing you @moe, and you're too brainwashed to any know any better.

United States Digital Service

Digital services department of the Executive Office of the President of the United States
The United States DOGE Service, formerly the United States Digital Service, is a technology unit housed within the Executive Office of the President of the United States. The USDS was launched on August 11, 2014 by president Barack Obama. It provided consultation services to federal agencies on information technology. Its mandate was to improve and simplify digital service, and to improve federal websites.

So Trump in his brilliance simply "renamed" Musk's DOGE activities from Obama's USDS...which is already funded, operational, and authorized by Congress thereby making it perfectly 100% legal.

excerpt:
Sec. 3. DOGE Structure. (a) Reorganization and Renaming of the United States Digital Service. The United States Digital Service is hereby publicly renamed as the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and shall be established in the Executive Office of the President.

I just blindly trust anything any government leaning Praetorian Guard media tells me, guess I better start paying closer attention to media not controlled by government controllers?

Good call @moe , if you follow your own advice instead of cutting and pasting drivel from the Left, you might stop embarrassing yourself! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It doesn’t matter what they authorized. It depends on the specific wording of the appropriations bill. If there is any discretion, the president can oversee any payments.

Or, what if Congress appropriates $100 billion to build a new naval vessel and the president built it for$70 billion? The president doesn’t have to spend the remaining $30 billion just because Congress appropriated it.

Precisely. Cutting costs and being more efficient with the people's money is not "unconstitutional" it's just good business practice particularly for the folks paying the bills...WE THE PEOPLE (ie: taxpayers)

@moe thinks all the money belongs to Government anyway, so he thinks we all should just stop complaining about how government wastes what we send in.
