So, year #5 and we are 0-3 in the Big 12...

They didn't run 100 plays a game in the 80s either. It was all about defense and 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

It may have been 'all about defense' back in the 80's. It sure ain't 'all about defense' these days. The administrators are looking into how to add another digit to the scoreboard these days. At least on the visitors side.

Agree, I was just trying to make the point, and I think it sailed over a few posters' heads, that you're more likely to see 21 point losses in today's version of college football as opposed to the 80s version of college football, because teams run 100 plays a game on offense, use the hurry up offense, etc. etc.

CountryRoads89EER...................I get your drift. But, understand that I ain't been right since my wife sailed something over my head about 5 years ago. No, it wasn't a football. It was a dadgum cease and desist restraining order! All the laws know I'll break that dadgum thing!

Sounds like we need to start selling pickles inside the stadium to fund that scoreboard improvement, Warez! Look at all the extra money we generated with beer sales...your pickles can't miss!

countryroads89, I think everyone understands your point.

However, although plays/game, points/game and all those things have risen since the 1980s, it is equally true that the rate at which they have risen is not as high as the rise in frequency of WVU getting blown out.

I think y
Nehlen didn't play a Big XII schedule either. I bet you Nehlen would also say lay off Dana.
i think you are wrong. Don Nehlen never made even close the money that Dana has and did much more for our program. I believe he would say that all the scrutiny is what comes with a million dollar salary.

Yep. The "Big 12 excuse" is getting mighty worn out -- especially since the massively improved recruiting has yet to materialize...
