Rich upsets top 10 team 4th year in a row

Arizona took down Utah on Saturday night/Sunday morning in double overtime.

I think maybe Whit Babcock, who was at WVU with Rich, might have Rich on speed dial for the Virginia Tech job. At least Rich knows how to beat a top 10 team. An admirable feat.
nice win for roddy.....that said, he should go to vocational tech if offered because he will not be able to compete year in and year out for the pac-12 south with all teams at full strength, which is now ready to happen.....he now is 3-5 in the pac-12, 6-5 overall.....more likely than not 3-6, 6-6 after this saturday.....but arizona state, like zona, has been inconsistent this year, so maybe roddy has a chance to finish above .500.....at vo-tech, he would be be in a much easier division (acc coastal) than in the pac-12 south......vo-tech would be taking a chance, though, honestly.....roddy hasn't won big in what, eight years?.....his record since he left wvu can't be much better than .500.....wait, let me look it up, hold on.....he is 47-41 as of today at since he left wvu.....good thing he has the wvu legacy, or he might get stuck at zona......bet here, though, is he will get the vo-tech offer despite his recent record and will bail the nanosecond the offer comes..... ;) ......

I have mixed emotions, too, Woody. I would LOVE for WVU to play Arizona, and beat Rich and Casteel, because I ALWAYS root for my alma mater to win every game. Which is why I'm in Mountaineer Field for every game, as long as I'm not dead. Then I'll have my family talk to the funeral home about driving the funeral procession 180 miles each way to go pass Mountaineer Field at kickoff time. I know that playing in Tennessee would benefit a lot of WVU fans who travel to Mountaineer bowl games. So, I can live with WVU vs. Rich in the desert or against Pitt in Tennessee or somewhere closer for WVU fans, who have enough games that are 800 to 1,200 miles away. Either way, the chants will rhyme with Pitt or refer to sand, which has the same number of words. :sunglasses:
Some of you amaze me.
Classic Beaten Wife Syndrome, You keep asking for more.
come on, you know you will have your funeral at mountaineer field..... ;) .....by the way, and i'm serious, i already have arranged, if it can be pulled off, to have some of my ashes dumped on mountaineer field.....there and into the new river at fayetteville off the picturesque tunny hunsaker bridge.....i have great memories of visits to fayetteville as a kid......

He has indicated that he now hates how it all went down and I'm sure he does.......However, it wasn't all on him........it was as much the administration fault as it was his, both sides screwed the pooch so to speak. As for the payout....who in the hell doesn't try to find ways out of a buyout. Stupid people calling people stupid on this site is getting comical...
it was not the administration's fault.....roddy signed a new contract in late august and by october in the middle of the season, he was bitching about how wvu was not living up to his contract.....the admins didn't have time yet to not live up to the contract.....the way he snaked out of town at night, the whole thing of him trying to plant a negative story in the pittsburgh paper with chuck finder (ever wonder why finder left the staff in pittsburgh?).....the negative things he said because he was too narcissistic to look in his own backyard about the situation....,.the calvin magee b.s. .....this was not on the admins.....it was on roddy.....who, btw, agitated to do things that would have put wvu on probation, if the admins hadn't said no and launched him into one of his hissy fits.....J......

Slight exaggeration but yes and I was not happy about that nor Dana coming out afterwards saying something to the extent that we weren't in the Big East anymore. Rich lost to almost everyone at UofM, so what's your point? My point is I am tired of people drooling over themselves for Rich Rod. He is a mediocre coach at best. His record proves that. If you aren't on board with Dana, I certainly understand, but quit it with Rich Rod already. We can do better than both.
imo, to reiterate my stance of previous years, mountaineer fans who want roddy back have self-esteem issues.....at least when it comes to wvu football..... ;) .....if or when holgs leaves, we can do better than trying to retread roddy......

I have a feeling that someone is trying to lure someone into their den with the offer of a stinking beer. No one with a brain would show up to meet someone under these circumstances unless they had a real taste for beer. Make it a Stroh's and I will meet you. TexasforevEER

He had one of the best seasons UofA ever posted last year, his current record makes him their 2nd best coach in their modern era of football.

You act like everyone just walks into UofA and wins, that is one of the more difficult places to produce in the country and hes doing it. He bombed at Michigan because Michigan cut the cord 1 year too early, its not a coincidence that Michigan rose to relevance following his immediate departure and slid back to irrelevance once his players graduated.

If Rich and Holgs had their teams playing at the level they are being paid to produce...........wins against Top 10 teams would not be UPSETS. They would be the rule rather than the exception! Duh

OK, let's cut to the chase:

Who should WVU get if it replaces Dana?
Remember, it has to be someone who would come to WVU for the money WVU pays.
That eliminates Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher.

OK, who is the No. 1 replacement for Dana, someone who actually will come here and win the national title for WVU? Or at least win the Big 12, which means a possible shot at the national playoffs?

Who?

It's not enough to fire the coach you have. You need to find someone who will do the job better. Better enough to pay off the guy you're dumping. Otherwise, we're all just spinning our wheels here.

I loved the job Rod did for WVU. I appreciate what Nehlen did for WVU.

But I want WVU fixed before I die.

WV is 'fixed' enough to suit me. I order Chinese take-out on Saturday at about noon and then sit back and let the Mountaineers do the talking. I got my moneys worth every game this year. Holgs puts on an entertaining game. His Red Bull, Bad Hair and sideline antics is the icing on the cake. Even having the Wizard on their side won't save Kansas this weekend. Life is good.
