Rich upsets top 10 team 4th year in a row

Arizona took down Utah on Saturday night/Sunday morning in double overtime.

I think maybe Whit Babcock, who was at WVU with Rich, might have Rich on speed dial for the Virginia Tech job. At least Rich knows how to beat a top 10 team. An admirable feat.

RR has a better chance of ending up at Marshall than he does at WVU or VT.

This ain't the first time Rich has upset a Top 10 team. He upset a possible National Championship team a few years ago if my memory serves me right. Yes, he upset the Mountaineers and fled the scene in the middle of the night.............headed to Michigan and the Big House.

he's a guy who left for what he perceived as a better job. He's not a traitor. He's not your slave. He has the same right as you to find another job.
He is a traitor. He left a team prior to an appearance in a major bowl game with absolutely no consideration for his alma mater, his student athletes, the school's supporters, or anybody but himself. The entire time he was at WVU he was constantly carping for himself and trying to squeeze more money from everybody. We would be better off with Alfred E. Newmann as coach than a disgusting reprobate like Fraud.

you're obviously way to emotionally invested to see how silly your belief is. It's a job as head coach. Just as you might have a job. Both of you have a right to leave at any point for another job. Spare me the loyalty with his alma mater, etc. It works both ways. Had he crapped the bed, WVU would have fired him.

Get a clue. He betrayed WVU; giving us a song and dance that he loved WVU and would be here as long as the fans and University wanted him and just a few days later was out the door. On top of that he tried his dangdest to avoid the payout.
You are either stupid or have a terrible memory.

He has indicated that he now hates how it all went down and I'm sure he does.......However, it wasn't all on him........it was as much the administration fault as it was his, both sides screwed the pooch so to speak. As for the payout....who in the hell doesn't try to find ways out of a buyout. Stupid people calling people stupid on this site is getting comical...

for those interested, Football Scoop posted "Sources tell FootballScoop that Whit Babcock considers Larry Fedora a strong candidate at Virginia Tech. We are also of the understanding that Rich Rodriguez will not be a candidate for this position."

as far as I can tell and recall back that's the site that first broke the news of Holgorsen to WVU.

"We reported early Monday morning that Dana Holgorsen would have a new home by the end of the week. Out of respect for Bill Stewart and his staff at West Virginia, we left it at that. We had confirmed that Holgorsen had met with WVU athletic director Oliver Luck last week. In fact, Luck also interviewed a current mid-major head coach. Luck sadly made the decision to hire Holgorsen as the head coach in-waiting before informing head coach Bill Stewart. And the crazy world of the coaching profession continues. For the record, Bill Stewart is 28-11 in three seasons as the head coach at West Virginia."

that was posted Dec 14 of 2010, two weeks prior to the bowl game vs NC State. that news fell on the heels of WVU winning four in a row vs Cincy, L'Ville, Pitt and Rutgers to get to 9-3.

anyhow for VT, that's a bit of a curve ball, if it's true. Fedora's UNC team plays VT Saturday in Beamer's final game in Lane Stadium. talk about an awkward ending and a distraction as the Hokies are looking to get bowl eligible and send Beamer out on a positive note.

for Rodriguez, again if this is true, he's either staying at Ariz or headed somewhere other than VT.

lol you need to get a clue son. He had the right to leave whenever he wanted. Yes, it sucked. But he was not our slave. He owed us nothing. As I said, if he wasn't successful, Wvu would've have fired him. It doesn't matter he is from here. It was nice while it lasted. He moved on. You should to.

well, look here, the boards knuckle dragging mouth breather has returned for another beating lol
l'll be at the Iowa State game. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Just let me know where is good for you. I will buy you a beer.

Wait a second. A couple weeks ago the dude said VT and RR already had an agreement in place. His sources all confirmed.

Man, I don't know what to think.

as I would pour that beer over your head.
Well now is your opportunity to prove that. I would just like to buy you the beer. What you choose to do with it is your option. Again, unless your courage reaches no further than your keyboard, I am looking forward to meeting you.

lol well next time I attend a game, you are more than welcome to "buy me a beer". Sounds like you need "the courage".

It sounds like you live close, so attending the game should not be necessary for us to meet for a beer. So get out from behind your keyboard and have some real courage. It is just a beer after all.

I want to meet too..I want a beer..I'll be wearing a blue "Doyle Hargraves Construction" T-shirt without sleeves..

how nice of you to buy us all beers while we get to listen to you mouth breath more nonsense lol
Not nonsense at all, just an opposing view to yours. That is all of this is really. Just a bunch of people giving their opinions about a relatively insignificant issue. I'm not sure why some choose to resort to name calling but I'm guessing it a character flaw of some sort. Again, the offer still stands. Just let me know where to meet you. I am so interested to see who would use the term "mouth breather."

just as I'm interested to see the term "mouth breather" matchup to the poster.

Guess Jack Arute and Butch Davis must have an agenda. (Sarcasm alert)

Their daily show "Playbook" on Sirius XM just had RR and then DH on as guests in consecutive hours.

You're not going to convince the other side on this argument. They're convinced the man is evil as if:

1. We wouldn't fire Rich in 2 seconds if he ever stopped producing winning seasons even if he turned down Michigan, so to sit here and act like all football coaches should be 100% loyal when the fans/admin will not be is a joke.
2. People don't ever change their mind about things that happened 8 years ago
3. That football coaches are not meant to be a beacon of all that is right in the world. They're friggin football coaches not your preacher.

He gave us the best 4 year run in school history, when he left the program has never even sniffed the same heights barring the fool's gold Orange Bowl win after sharing a terrible conference's title, and 5-0 cupcake fueled start in 2012. He is our best chance to ever break out from the 5th-8th place trap we constantly find ourselves in, and as someone who believes football coaches are hired to simply win football games, and put on a dog and pony show for the press/recruits, Ill take him back in a heartbeat.

exactly. There seems to be a "foolishness" amongst our natives in WV that fellow native coaches must receive lifetime coaching positions at WVU because they are "one of us". They expected Rod to stay for life whether he wanted to or not. They expected WVU to keep Stewart for life despite his failures no matter what. That's not realistic, nor is that good business practice. Truth is, this is a business and a job. Nothing more.

I see you're popular too!!!

I'm smarter than you on my worst day son. Surprised you offer me a beer. I didn't know you could buy beer with EBT cards lol
I'm guessing that is part of why you have declined my offer. You are afraid to see how wrong you are. The offer still stands.
