I said that TCU had been a better program than you had given them credit for EXCEPT a period from about 1960 to the 1980's; so we agree on this FACT. I also said that bowl games used to be a rare occurrence for teams than the most recent era; also a FACT. Perhaps remedial reading is in your future.
I was going to lay into you on this but for two things: it is Christmas and I wish you peace and happiness for the holiday season; and I was watching the Go Daddy Bowl last night as Georgia Southern, the team WVU beat 44-0 won their very first bowl game over Bowling Green, a team that had a pretty good year.
I thought to myself how you would view this and could almost imagine how you would tear into the GA Southern fan enjoying their team's victory by chastising them for having no history, only played in one bowl game ever, you're no good, etc, etc, etc. All the while not realizing the great program that GA Southern has had since re-instituting football in 1982 after a 40 year hiatus. And the Southern Conference Championships they had won (same ones won by WVU in the 50's and 60's) and the IAA National Championships they had won before stepping up to the Sun Belt last year (and winning that conference championship, but not being bowl eligible in their first year).
And as I thought about this a great Peace came upon me and I thought to myself, "fear not, as he knows not what he talks about." So with that I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Peace Out!!!
