QUARTERBACK
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Nicco Marchiol (r-Jr.), Khalil Wilkins (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Scotty Fox (Fr.)
Transfers In: Jaylen Henderson
Transfers Out: Ryder Burton
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None

Total current scholarships used for 2025: 4

Need 1 more QB with college experience:
Henderson is a good pickup from the portal. Wilkins & Fox have never played.

RUNNING BACK
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Jahiem White (Jr.), Diore Hubbard (r-Fr.), Traevon Dunbar (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Deandre Desinor (Fr.)
Transfers In: LJ Turner
Transfers Out: Jaylen Anderson, CJ Donaldson
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 5

*Need a big power back:
The RB group are all small running backs, with no experience at the D1 level, except White. Turner played at the D2 level, hopefully he can help.

WIDE RECEIVER
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Jaden Bray (r-Sr.), Jarel Williams (r-Jr.), Rodney Gallagher (Jr.), TJ Johnson (r-So.), Dominick Collins (r-Fr.), Brandon Rehmann (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Jalil Hall (Fr.), Teriq Mallory (Fr.)
Transfers In: Oran Singleton (Sr.), Jarod Bowie (Sr.), Cyrus Traugh (r-So.)
Transfers Out: Ric'Darious Farmer, Hudson Clement, Traylon Ray
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: Preston Fox
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 11

*Need 4 or 5 outside receivers:
Rehmann, who got to play a few snaps this past season, Hall will have to play.

We lost our 4 best receivers, 3 in the portal and 1 to graduation.
Gallagher & Williams have both underperformed the last 2 seasons. Bray was decent at Oklahoma State, but was injured and missed almost the entire season. I think Bowie & Singleton both can contribute in the slot, but we already have Gallagher in the slot. Rehmann, who got to play a few snaps this past season, and Hall will have to play if we don’t find some outside receivers in the portal.

TIGHT END
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Gregory Genross (r-Sr.), Noah Braham (r-So.), Jack Sammarco (So.)
Incoming Recruits: Jackson Accuardi (Fr.)
Transfers In: Jacob Barrick (Sr.)
Transfers Out: Will Dixon
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: Treylan Davis
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 5

*Don’t need any tight ends:
Genross started at Colorado State 2 years ago, and Sammaco played when we used 3 tight ends for blocking.

OFFENSIVE LINE
Current Scholarship Players
Returning: , Landen Livingston
(r-Jr.), Xavier Bausley (r-Jr.), Cooper Young (r-So.), Nick Krahe (r-So.)
Incoming Recruits: Gavin Crawford (Fr.), Eidan Buchanan (r-Fr.), Brandon Homady (Fr.), Jahmir Davis (Fr.)
Transfers In: Walter Young Bear
Transfers Out: Tomas Rimac, Sullivan Weidman, Johnny Williams, Kyle Altuner, Justin Terry, Lucas Austin
Declaring early for the NFL or
retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 9

*Need 4 - 6 Offensive Linemen:
This is without a doubt our weakest position group, 9 scholarship OL is pitiful:

Livingston is the only center on our roster. Bausley got some playing time last season, he started 2 years ago at Jax State. Walter Young Beat will definitely help, he started at Tulsa. The others have never played in college. This is probably the worse group of any D1 college group.

DEFENSIVE LINE
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Edward Vesterinen (r-Sr.), Hammond Russell (r-Sr.), Asani Redwood (r-Jr.), Corey McIntyre Jr. (r-So.), Oryend Fisher (r-So.), Nate Gabriel (So.), Makai Byerson (r-Fr.), Elijah Kinsler (r-Fr.)

Transfers In: None
Transfers Out: None
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 13

*Don’t need any Defensive Linemen:
This is our strongest position group! We have some DL who can become great players.

LINEBACKER/BANDIT
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Caden Biser (r-Sr.), Reid Carrico (r-Sr.), Ben Cutter (Jr.), Curtis Jones (So.), Rickey Williams (r-Fr.), Obinna Onwuka (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Michael Hastie (Fr.), Romando Johnson (Fr.)
Transfers In: Ashton Woods (r-Fr.)
Transfers Out: Trey Lathan, Josiah Trotter
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 9

*We need 2 or 3 Linebacker/Bandit:
Carrico, Cutter and Biser have lots of experience. Redshirt Freshmen Williams, Woods and Onwuka can definitely help.

CORNERBACK
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Jacolby Spells (Sr.), Jordan Jackson (r-So.), Keyon Washington (r-Fr.), Chris Henry (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Sammy Etienne (Fr.), Tyrell Russell (Fr.), Dawayne Galloway (Fr.)
Transfers In: Jordan Scruggs (Sr.)
Transfers Out: TJ Crandall, Ayden Garnes
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 8

*Need 3 or 4 Cornerbacks:
Spells is the only CB with experience. Scruggs started last season at South Alabama. I also think Freshman Dewayne Galloway can contribute.

SAFETY/SPEAR
Current Scholarship Players Returning: Kekoura Tarnue (r-Sr.) Aden Tagaloa-Nelson (r-So.), Keyshawn Robinson (So.), Israel Boyce (So.), Jason Cross (r-Fr.), Zae Jennings (r-Fr.)
Incoming Recruits: Zah Jackson (Fr.), Chris Fileppo (Fr.), Julien Horton (Fr.)
Transfers In: None
Transfers Out: Raleigh Collins, Josiah Jackson, Jaheem Joseph

Incoming Recruits: None
Transfers In: None
Transfers Out: None
Declaring early for the NFL or retiring: None
Total current scholarships used for 2025: 1

*Need at least 1 more punter and 2 kickers.

*That’s between 25 - 30 players we need from the portal. If anyone disagrees or has something to add please let me know.

You did a lot of work. Hope you enjoyed it. I said leading into the last game, regardless of the coach, 2025 will be a tough year and I predicted a losing season. And that opinion is based on the roster. My opinion remains and I'm putting money on it with as many friends and family that have been ridiculous with their anti-Brown crap and think magic is going to happen. Building a roster and culture will take time and I'm hopeful 2026 will be better.

Yes building a culture does take time. Brown built a losing culture and a prima Dona culture. It’s gonna take time to cleanse the program of this mentality and weakness.

Interesting look at the roster. But it’s still pretty early to try to take a snapshot. The new freshmen class has yet to enroll and there is still another portal window after spring practice.

It does interest me to look at the status of our lines. So far so good for DL. Not so much for the OL. For an offense that wants to run the ball that is definitely a concern. Losing 4 Seniors(Milum, Malone, Yates & Hubbard) plus 6 portals out leaves us short of numbers and experience. This is a worthwhile snapshot at any time. Would like to have kept Altuner & Weidman. Time to get busy at this position.

Vegas has us at 6.5 wins for next year so could make some money. It shouldn't take time in today's portal/NIL envirornment IMO. With heavy roster turnover, it should be expected to have season 1 improvement.

If we do not beat this years win total then I will have concerns.

Culture can take time, however I don't think going backwards would be a good barometer for future success.

OL is a major concern. Agree 100% there.

WVU fans need to quit trying to replicate OSU fanbase with their ridiculous behavior and have realistic expectations with less BS posts online against the program and players. Don't be concerned with year 1 results under RR.

Don't be concerned with real WVU fans and what they think. Big 12 is weak according experts like yourself so 7 plus or heat em up.

Regardless of how weak or tough the Big 12 is, the concern for me is the portal adds. Nothing significant. Sure they could work out, however with all of this supposed NIL money, I was expecting to be in the mix for some studs.

Why not? Maybe because our record. Well, if we only win 5-6 games next year, we will all of a sudden have interest in the portal?

We just lost a WR to Kentucky... Which if we did offer the bag, I think we are better off.

Where is Pat Mac at? ;-)

Personally, it is playing out exactly as I expected. We are WVU; it is not an attractive destination regardless how much love we have for it.

WVU should continue getting the same 3 star recruits. Likely gone are the days of landing the occasional 5 star recruits. Hope I’m wrong

I somewhat disagree. I think RR will recruit much better than Brown and Holgs. But isn't going to be this year. I'm hopeful we will surprise some folks and I lose a lot of money but depth is critical more than ever.

Traylon Ray, formerly a wide receiver for West Virginia University, has committed to play for Ole Miss, as reported by Schuyler Callihan on X. This move is part of the broader trend of college football players utilizing the transfer portal....

Yeah cause WVU isn't recruiting the transfer portal right.
