How many millions were spent by the army corp of eng to move everybody from one side of the river to other side down in Grundy? I belive that you could have given everybody ther 50,000 and told them to go somewhere where there is employment and it would have been money better spent. I have no idea about the flood wall. Maybe, people shouldn't live in bad flood zones. Just a suggestion. Somebody built a 500 million gas station in Afghanistan. By most accounts, it should have cost 50,000. Was that other 450 mill well spent?
It's not just people living. It's businesses also. Look at all the steel plants in Huntington that were protected. Don't be short sighted. Think of all the businesses in Huntington that have thrived because of the floodwall and all the people that had jobs for centuries because of it. Look at all the tax revenue returned back from those jobs....Spin-off businesses. Not to mention the Manhatten project to assist our defenses in WWII.
