No shit Sherlock. It's been posted throughout the thread. But he didn't seek employment. Indiana came for him in December. The only penalty Devries is going to have to pay for seeking employment is the buyout. Coaches are paid professionals under contract,
he breached the contract and that's going to be the end of it..the milk has beem spilled.

I think we are "dumping" on him because it is pretty obvious he LIED. I just feel bad for his kid for having that untimely "injury" that will allow him to play another year.So we're dumping on a dude for taking a bigger paycheck? I mean.........really......I think that's something everyone would do.
I'm going to put my conspiracy cap on with this thought......![]()
Emmitt Matthews Jr. said what everyone was thinking on Darian DeVries leaving WVU
If you're still pretty upset at Darian DeVries for leaving West Virginia after just one campaign, you better believe that you're not alone there. When Wren Bakehailwv.com
Behind the scenes, though, DeVries confirmed that Indiana had first contacted him during the regular season, which is a major bummer. Not only did he jump ship to join the Hoosiers, but the Mountaineers were robbed of a trip to the NCAA Tourney too.
Except when it's against your contract in your current employment. Then that's called "tampering".Without permission? What's that called again?
LIfe
every coach who leaves with time on their contract has been tampered with..that's why they owe the buyout..coaches have the right to life , liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..you can't tell someone who they can and can't talk toExcept when it's against your contract in your current employment. Bubba Cunningham AD of UNC was chairperson over selection committee.I'm going to put my conspiracy cap on with this thought......
The NCAA committee knew that if WVU made the tourney, that it would be more difficult for Indiana to name their head coach. The NCAA was led by Myles Davis once, the president of University of Indiana. So in honor of him, they did Indiana a favor and left WVU out so that they could quickly fill their position.

How many were asked mid season to become their next coach? It's a known fact of NCAA that you don't talk to a coach of another team without permission. Let’s all just move on. DeVries isn’t even worth all the challenges against why and how he left. It all seems very fishy and shady. All of it. That said, he was here 1 month before he was looking to leave. He’s not worth all the complaining. Let him go.How many were asked mid season to become their next coach? Don't really have much choice....a basketball team is much easier to rebuild than a football team..Just two years ago the final four was UCONN, FAU, San Diego St, and MiamiLet’s all just move on.
