Right, but realistically it is a delay in receiving pay. They will get paid. All should be able to borrow the money using a receivable from the US govt as collateral. It is a little distraction, but no real impact. I have had several jobs where the pay was "held back" for two - four weeks. I eventually got the money due me. Not really that unusual. It is just a little unusual to delay pay in the middle of employment - but not absolutely never done.

But, my question was to address the perceived winner in these prior shut downs of the govt? I do not remember any where the Repubs were perceived the winner even if their mission was accomplished.

I just heard an absolute solution. Take money the govt has captured in drug busts. It is reportedly in the $5 billion per year. Use is to legal/law enforcement. Redirect one year receipts to Trumps need for the physical wall and technology and personnel. That settles the difference. but Nancy will stop that in the 9th circuit. The problem is not the project, but the Trump haters.

It's not about the money or that we can't afford it mneilmont. Sh*t it's only 5 billion dollars. We waste that much paying for illegals once they get here.

It's about denying Trump a major political victory and keeping him from fulfilling one of his major campaign promises. It's "read my lips" redux. Democrats are just trying to deny him that wall so his base will get pissed off and not vote for him again in 2020.
