I just watched game again...Elmore

I'm sorry but IMO, Elmore couldn't play at WVU

He didn't play defense all night. Awful!
He could not adjust to WVU defense either half
Even when our bench was in the game. Elmore no show!
I'm sure the Elmore family is a great WV family and one Elmore poster on this forum is probably a nice guy....

But this was a major wash for this young man, who obviously didn't want to come to WVU anyway.

He had a couple of shots from Los Angeles that showed off his range. His defense and ball handling were poor as was his shooting in general. Were trades possible I believe the big guy would be a preferable target.

Give him credit, he was doing his best. If the rest of the team had played that hard, the final score might have been closer.

Bud, I like your enthusiasm. No joking. But, you are just plain wrong here.

If Elmore started for WVU we'd be lucky to be in the NIT right now. Not because of his offense but because of his defense. B12 teams would create nightmare matchups to isolate him on faster, more athletic guards who would dribble-drive him to death. Just look what Carter did to him last night and Carter isn't even in the top 5 of dribble-drivers in the B12 right now.

Sure, Elmore might score 15 a game but he'd give up 25 and Sags would be on the bench most of the game in foul trouble due to trying to protect Elmore's lack of athleticism and foot speed.

I was worried he might have a heart attack....you may have mistaken the sweat for effort, whereas I believe he was simply out of condition for that much playing time.

Elmore lacks the strength and quickness to play significant minutes for WVU, as any intelligent, honest person would admit. I could see him in a back-up role as a 3-point specialist, much like James Long. I don’t see him as more than a potential walk-on at WVU. He’s just doesn’t have the skill and desire on the defensive side of the game.

Hey we are trying to be nice here. Elmore couldn't play for Huggs. He doesn't like that brand of basketball or he would have. Huggs would have let him walk on and prove himself. Gay didn't want that either and we all know it.

The comment of how JC and Sags " helping him out"... made me puke. JC and Sags play in the Big 12 and and bang heads with great players every night.

Elmore got to the dance because MT choked and went to the NIT. He's a good guy. Good family. But please don't insult us by trying to convince us you are anything but green and don't be deceived about the multiple game logic.

I saw Knapper take Elmore's job at South Charleston as HS freshman, causing Elmore to head to prep school for a year where he never left the bench. He came back to attend GW where Knapper ate him alive on the defensive end when SC played GW. Huggins took the best player in Valley.

Elmore is great shooter, like his Dad was, but he's soft. Get up on him, knock him around and he quits. He's been like that since since he was in middle school. Nothing personal against him, but that's the way you handle the kid if you're an opposing coach.

Huggins is a basketball guy and he passed, Marshall needs to deal with their inferiority complex another way or just stfu and come to Morgantown and play like any other mid major would.

At a low level G5 school where he can hoist up 25 three-pointers a game and play little defense and have a coach that doesn't care about either.

I've heard, but not verified, that Huggins liked his shooting but turned him because of his lack of defense potential.
