MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 27, 2024) –
One month from today, West Virginia University will hold its annual Gold-Blue Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 27, at noon, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

This year’s game marks the 40th anniversary of the WVU Football’s partnership with WVU Medicine Children’s. The partnership was formed by legendary Hall of Fame Head Coach Don Nehlen in 1984.

Admission for the game is free with the gates opening at 11 a.m., and all fans are required to claim a ticket by CLICKING HERE. All tickets will be issued via mobile delivery and fans are encouraged to claim and download their tickets to their mobile wallet, prior to arriving at the stadium on game day. In lieu of the cost of admission, fans are encouraged to make a donation to WVU Medicine Children’s at the time of checkout when claiming their ticket.

Headlining the Gold-Blue Spring Game will be an Almost Heaven Village Kickoff Concert featuring Morgantown native Huey Mack. Admission is free to the public. The concert will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the East Side of Milan Puskar Stadium between the Light Blue and Teal parking lots.

Fans are invited to bring their own food and beverages to the concert, but there also will be food trucks onsite. As always, no outside food or beverage will be permitted into Milan Puskar Stadium. Concession stands inside the stadium will open at 11 a.m.

Along with the kickoff concert, the Almost Heaven Village fan experience area will offer fans the opportunity to pick up an exclusive schedule poster, enjoy food trucks, inflatables, a DJ, yard games, photo opportunities, balloon artistry and face painting, along with appearances from the WVU Spirit Squads. Almost Heaven Village will be open three hours prior to kickoff (9 a.m.) and will close 30 minutes prior to kickoff (11:30 a.m.).

Huey Mack, born Joseph Dalton Michael in Morgantown, West Virginia, started getting into music and production at age 14. He began toying with the idea of music as a half-hearted hobby for most of his time in high school. By age 17, he started releasing a series of free digital mixtapes.

“A Boy Named Hue” eventually gained a cult-like following, and Mack did his own headline touring, which would eventually be reflected upon in his independently released full-length album Pretending Perfection, which sat at No. 8 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums and was co-produced with hitmaker Louis Bell. Since the success of his debut, Huey has continued to experiment and push the envelope of his sound which shows through his new country-inspired album “The Cozy Bar” that has amassed more than 20 million streams and features Brad Paisley, Charles Wesley Godwin and Lauren Weintraub.

Following the conclusion of the game, all fans in attendance will be welcomed onto Mountaineer Field for 30 minutes for photos and other activities.
