Come on home Rich! It’s time!

I thought they were doing the playoffs ranking on Monday but instead it is tomorrow at noon. Baker won't announce tomorrow even if a decision is made. Would be stupid.

Per media reports, Supposedly the first phase of video interviews is complete. Now Baker plans some in person interviews. I doubt we will have any announcement tomorrow.

Come on Wren make it happen! Bring back Hot Rod!! 🔥

If he hires coach K and he fails to work out, it will look very bad on Wren especially when Rich Rod keeps turning out out good seasons at JST. A big school will snatch him up if he has another good season there, imo. If Rich fails on the other hand, the book can finally be closed on him for good, real actual closure will happen, and it won't look as bad on Wren at all, imo.

But if Rich Rod succeeds which is likely, look the f out. WVU will be back full force, and the hype and buzz will be at an all time high! His comeback story will be nationwide. We have 2 high profile WVU fans on the college game day panel right now! That kind of hype will be amazing. Bring back Rich Rod.... it's a no brainer imo. Coach K, even though on paper looks rock solid, will not bring the kind of hype and excitement as Rich Rod.

I fully understand Baker's dilemma here. If he selects Rich Rod, it will make him look like a pawn to the donors and politicians. It would basically make him look powerless to make decisions on his own. On the other hand, he created this situation by stringing this out so long and allowing for those donors, politicians, and former players of Rich Rod to voice their support (and criticism of Baker).

But for the fanbase, and the program, I believe there is only one answer here and that is bring back Rich Rod. He is in his early 60's now, not likely to jump ship, and will only go for one contract term (probably 6 years) before retiring. That will give WVU time to look for the next coach, which will hopefully be on the staff of Rich Rod at WVU and make a smooth transition from there for the long term.

It’s all about money. And winning gets the money. It’s a no brainer. I guarantee if Rod starts winning, everyone will be onboard. Well not everyone, but the vast majority.

Money, both on the revenue side and the big donors are important. So is winning consistently after the 2025 season which I believe everyone knows will be very difficult to achieve a 500 record. Difficult but not impossible. But I also believe winning public perception is also a key factor. I think with hiring RR, many in the media will love WV but at the sametime, it will give the program a blackeye with the holier than thou individuals such as myself. It is a very difficult position.

If its all about money then Rich rod is a no brainer and it shouldn't even be a discussion. He will bring it in. Coach K? Who knows!!

Exactly. A no brainer. With the NIL, we need to generate additional revenue. Baker has been preaching this. Now is the time to back up his statements. Rich brings the program money. While some fans will be turned off at first over butthurt feelings 17 years ago, most will quickly forget if he starts winning.

The climb trusters are mostly the same clan as the Rich haters. They were the ones fawning over Neal and blaming his failures on lack of resources. So put on the line and hire the guy who is a sure bet to bring more money in. Let alone the only one who has coached successful seasons in big boy conferences. Rich is the one. Its hard to admit it for some though.

Rich should be the choice.

This could also be about NIL money. Making sure to increase that amount to get talent and the ability to pay assistant coaches top dollar.

Wren could be using the Rod hire for purpose of getting the money needed for top staff and players. Kind of like holding Rod out in front of them saying you want him pay triple.

One thing is for sure, if they hire Rod, he’s gonna expect they pay. As they should. The days of nickel and dimes is over, because if not, so is our program.

Reports are now out that Anthony Becht interviewed for the head coaching position. I love that dude, dont get me wrong, but if this is true its not a good look for Baker, imo.

There is no bad look interviewing candidates. Bad look in hiring the wrong candidate
