Is profiling racist? The FBI profiles all the time, white, black, hispanic, etc. I don't understand the problem with profiling. If we have a serial killer, I think it is extremely smart for the police to have a profile of the killer which might help save a life (White are the most likely race to commit these types of crimes). Likewise, I think it wise for police to have a profile of drug mules to stop delivery of dangerous drugs. Preventing a crime is much better than arresting someone after the crime has been committed because it may save lives or at least stop harm. I realize this may be an unpopular view, but I support profiling as a preventative means as long as officers do not abuse those people being investigated. If Chicago did what NYC did years ago, how many lives would have been saved?
