WVU Release Bracket Determined for 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 WBB Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - (March 5, 2023) Texas and Oklahoma earned a share of the 2022-23 Big 12 women's basketball regular season championship, marking the first time since 2014 there have been co-champions in the league. The Longhorns and the Sooners clinched a share of the title with wins over Kansas State and Oklahoma State, respectively, on the final day of play.

Seeds have been determined for the 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship to be played March 9-12 in Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium. Texas, with a 14-4 record, earned the top seed via the tiebreaker due to a 2-0 head-to-head record against the No. 2 seed Oklahoma.

Iowa State enters as the No. 3 seed after an 11-7 Conference season. Three teams, No. 4 seed Oklahoma State, No. 5 seed West Virginia and No. 6 seed Baylor, tied at 10-8. Oklahoma State and West Virginia both boasted a 3-1 record among tied teams, with the Cowgirls earning the tiebreaker due to a 1-1 record against top-seeded Texas. The top six seeds earned byes into the quarterfinal round on March 10.

The first-round games on March 9 feature No. 7 seed Kansas facing No. 10 seed TCU and No. 8 seed Texas Tech facing No. 9 seed Kansas State.
