Our conference's bad image stems from Oklahoma and Texas not being the elite powerhouse programs like they once were.

I remember the Big 10 going through a similar problem when Michigan and Ohio State was down. Both schools made great coaching hires and are now contending for championships. Their conference has a very strong image for it.

Similar thing happening now with Pac 12. USC has not been USC since Pete Carroll and Oregon's program has went to Hell in a hand basket after Chip Kelly left.

FSU and Clemson falling on hard times would do the same to ACC.

How about 'Eers becoming elite (again?)

That would be awesome if we became elite but our program has never been an elite program. I've always considered WVU in the 2nd tier.

1st tier aka elites = Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State, USC, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Notre Dame, etc

The conference is going to have a rough time the next 8 years with more times left out of the playoffs than everyone else the most likely outcome of no expansion and a 10 team CCG rematch.

They are going to start falling behind the Big Ten in 2017 by an uncomfortable margin financially.
