Former President Trump's history-making 4 indictments have only fueled the former president's support among likely Republican primary voters

Now we know why Democrats and some Republicans are trying to remove him from the ticket, though their efforts are futile.

Democrats, their policies and their bleaters are destroying our country

It's Trump's race to lose four and a half months before the first votes for the GOP presidential nomination

WVSPORTS.COM West Virginia head coach Neal Brown press conference summary

--West Virginia had chances but it just doesn't align for you like that often, it was a great opportunity. It was a home-and-home and that's it. They had their chances, but have to play better team football. It was 14-7 at the end of the half and they had chances to tie the game up and couldn't do it. They stopped them on the first drive after halftime and then had a procedure penalty that wiped out a big play. Then Penn State made it 21-7 and it was a sour taste. They had some chances. He didn't feel like the moment was too big for them but they didn't make enough plays. Special teams they net punted 42.5. They run well. The kickoff team has been pretty good and they brought one out and tackled at 18-yard line. The field goal team affected the kicks. The shanked punt was at a critical time. They missed an opportunity to change the game on a blocked punt. Offensively the good was the operation and game management. They worked off a silent cadence and it didn't affect them. All of those teams had a high number of procedure penalties in previous games, but they managed it. They had a clean game. They have to improve pass game execution. They were 3-6 on fourth down and while they wanted to be aggressive coming into the game they failed to get three of them. One they got pressure and they didn't have good fundamentals. One just missed a throw and the last one they just didn't execute on the two quarterback deal and that's his fault because it didn't work. They won the time of possession and if they converted two of those they would have had three or four more downs and ate up the clock more. Those failures to convert those end of possession downs had consequences. Zach Frazier was dominant. Devin Carter showed up and was really productive. Kole Taylor has two targets, should have had two more and Nick Malone came in and played well. CJ Donaldson had a point to prove and ran really well. Garrett Greene has got to make layups on throws which he didn't but he competed and you can see why guys like playing for him. Defensively, Brown was pleased with the front seven. They played the run pretty well and got some key red zone stops kicking field goals on three tries. They have to improve pass coverage, too many easy completions and they had some explosives. They pinned them down there on the 6-yard line but they let them out. They wanted to make the quarterback beat them and he did. Mike Lockhart ran to the ball, Eddie Vesterinen. And Lee Kpogba was around the ball.

--Come home and play a Duquense football team that is a proud program. They will be hungry to play and they'll get their best shot. They respect them but it's about them making some positive momentum.

--West Virginia has to play better against the pass and the coverage has to be tighter. EJ Horton missed the game and he'll miss this game. He missed the last two weeks of fall camp, Ja'Shaun Poke was injured as well. Poke should play this week. Devin Carter can break tackles and the two young kids have to play more. Jaheim White was out he didn't practice all week.

--There's pros and cons to both. You play FCS first and you can get momentum which is important but if you open against a power five team you can get on nationally television.

--Rodney Gallagher played on special teams and tried to get him in the game, but they didn't play in a lot of 11-personnel. That was game-plan specific. They felt good if they could get that game to the fourth quarter. He'll play more moving forward.

--Brown said that where they're rotating defensive linemen they played a lot of those guys, and while they would have liked to get another linebacker in the game that was a tough ask to get them in there with that situation.

--Objective this week is to win, they need to get to 1-1 and play clean football and get better in areas. They need to play the pass better and play tighter coverage. They want to play more people because it will be warm and they need to be careful with how they practice.

--Brown thinks they should play an FCS game. He finished his playing career at FCS and started his coaching career there so he thinks they're important because it will be a chance for them to get payouts to finance their programs. Also it's important for them to get an opportunity to play some people if the game goes in certain direction. If you're going to play these games make it regional.

--Officiating across the country is trying to do a better job with gauging offensive pass interference but it's hard because it has to be really obvious. In the open field nobody's keys are on that.

--You learn something from every game but you'd rather not learn from losing. You can learn from every game and if you're going to ask what we learned about themselves the really good players are really good on their team. The top players won their battles and they're gong to compete. You also learned where you can make improvements.

--Jacolby Spells played on special teams but those other guys are ahead of him at cornerback.

--Brown thinks they are good on the offensive line and they were more dominant last year in camp against their own defensive line. He was encouraged by the defensive line in fall camp and he was hopeful that it would translate and they made some strides. They misfit a couple things but they didn't get pushed off the ball. Hammond Russell has really good ability and he has really progressed in his third year now. He has some suddenness about him and has earned the right to play more. Mike Lockhart showed good ability last year but now has played himself where he can play. He made some really good one-on-one plays. Fatorma Mulbah is a different type of player but strong. Tomiwa Durojaiye is strong but young. Sean Martin did some nice things and showed what he can be. Jalen Thornton gave them some good snaps and he was happy for him. DaeDae Hawkins had the tipped pass. Asani Redwood is about two weeks out.

--Kole Taylor did some good things he should have had five catches for 70-yards. Has a good catch radius and runs well. He did some good things in the run game and needs to finish well.

WVSPORTS.COM West Virginia assistant coaches press conference summary

DC Jordan Lesley is up first.

--Lesley was happy with the front seven against Penn State, must be aggressive and faster on their pass defense and man coverage. It's little things that the defense needs to fix. Says the two second and long conversions were what hurt him the most.

--Mike and Will linebacker mirror each other to Lesley, he thought Kpogba at Will and Lathan at Mike fit better for that game. They're interchangeable. It's better that Kpogba can play multiple positions and it's good that he's versatile.

--Lesley was pleased with Trey Lathan and how he played overall, for that environment in that game. It slowed down for him and Lesley thinks he'll be fine.

--There's quality in the depth of the defensive line, like Coach Brown said. Fatorma Mulbah was good at running to the ball and they knew they would be structurally different. Lesley thought the defense since a nice job against Penn State's running game, one that averaged around 180 yards per game last season. There some alignment problems up front but he was happy with that group.

--Blitzing with linebackers was apart of the game plan and Lesley wanted to bring them inside more to stuff the run game. Kpogba is good at punching a hole in the offense and they planned to blitz linebackers more to attack PSU's scheme.

--The interceptions are something that has to be completed in those games against those opponents and they didn't. They missed two opportunities at a takeaway, the second chance was a wash since they didn't score, but the first missed chance had an impact on the game. He's not discouraged since the kids fought throughout the game, but they have a ton to build on, but in coverage they'll be fine.

--They need to work on route combinations and covering deep balls. They got to work on interior rush and they just need to improve. Lesley got some good and some bad from performance against Penn State, says the team to be a good team needs to take the good and repeat and fix the bad. There are no moral victories to him and they have to play better but they have a ton to build on.

WVSPORTS.COM Players press conference summary

DL Mike Lockhart is up first.

--Lockhart thought the team landed a few punches on defense but they need to clean up in tackling and some detail oriented things. He thinks he played pretty good, and he wishes he had more plays and clean some things up there like technique.
--He thinks the defense needs to clean up tackling, communication and technique.
--The Penn State environment was loud, and it was on the top of atmospheres he's played.
--To put it behind them, it's time to watch film and practice and put it behind them. Make sure everyone is on the same page.
--He's learned that when the team comes together we can beat anyone.
--It's been a great experience for me, I've become a better football player and
--Penn State was a great team, you can't make mistakes and must play a perfect game.
--A game like PSU Week 1 can build character and to Lockhart it depends on how you respond after that game.
--Can't look past anyone on the schedule, and be detail-oriented. The team was in a good mood today and Lockhart thought they played well as a team. It wasn't disappointment, but encouragement to build off of.
--Lockhart can play any three spots up front and he's feel comfortable there.
--Wish he would have played football earlier in high school. Didn't start playing until senior year. Transition from basketball to football helped with foot work and lateral quickness. Saw the campus and visted with Dante Stills as a transfer and liked what he saw and the defensive line group.
--He thinks that losses can build a team and its character. After the loss, it comes down to putting in effort and working as a team.

psu fan today.

The DC area psu fans are some of the worst.

Today I was informed that WVU was a nice warm up team so psu could work the cobwebs out.

While trash talking is fun and part of sports... it is their arrogance and self righteousness that is sickening.

Forgive this sin of a comment... but I would rather steal the souls of all those ped st fans at their night game... and sacrifice a win against spitt as the trade.

Went back and watched that 4th and 2 (attempted) "trick play

three times.

Penn State has obviously seen, or been tipped off about, how that play was to unfold.

They ran 9 up into the box, with just two back (each of whom gravitated to the lone WR we were sending down 5 yeards to catch the (intended) pass from Marchiol. We ended up with 9 guys primarily standing around, 4 of whom attempted to block for about 0.5 seconds, as #3 and #11 from PSU went on the hunt for Marchiol's head, running him backwards left with no chance of even THINKING of getting a pass off, let alone to a guy who was now basically double-covered 5 yards downfield.

That play was doomed before it was even snapped as soon as PSU crammed 9 into the box with bad intentions. We were left basically using 6 to block 9 and that's not advantageous in a venue like that against a defense such as PSU. You might pull that with a Duquesne, or such, but Penn Freaking State on their turf??? That crap may have worked at Troy, but as soon as PSU squeezed 9 into the box, it was toast. I don't think they need to attempt that stupid wrinkle again this season.

Four former West Virginia High School players make opening day NFL rosters

Congratulations Dante Stills and Tyson' Bagent as well as Darnell Wright for making opening day NFL rosters from West Virginia high schools. I had no doubt Dante would make any team that drafted him. The Bagent story is incredible. Here's a kid that holgerson led on for 2 or 3 years that he was going to offer and he finally screws him in the end and doesn't offer and he goes to Shepherd and breaks every College passing record in the books, now he's not on the practice squad , he's not the third string he's the backup quarterback for the Chicago Bears while the guy that was playing at WVU while Bagent was trying to be signed by WVU Wil Grier is out of a job. Darnell Wright I guess I can congratulate even though he turned traitor and went to Tennessee but we have four former West Virginia High School Kids and I have to mention Derrik Pitts cuz he's one of the four that's all I'm going to say about Pitts but four West Virginia former high school kids making NFL rosters is a nice thing for a state of 1.8 million people
