I posted this idea 5 years ago

I suggested that we design NASCAR type uniform with selective advertisers logos would be a great way to generate some major revenue... I know I know we are purest after all NIKE and Ridell have their logos .. if we could generate a couple of million per year for the athletic department would it be worth it?

There will be a new pitch on Major League Baseball fields next season.

The San Diego Padres became the first team to announce a deal for ads on their uniforms, saying Tuesday that patches with a Motorola logo will be worn on the right sleeves of their jerseys.

The March 10 memorandum of understanding for a new collective bargaining agreement between MLB and the players' association gave the 30 teams the right to sell patch ads on uniforms and sticker ads on helmets. The sides adopted an Aug. 6, 2021, proposal by MLB to amend a section of the Official Baseball Rules which states: "No part of the uniform shall include patches or designs relating to commercial advertisement."

MLB's proposal read: "Notwithstanding the foregoing or anything else in these rules, a club may license to third-party commercial sponsors the right to place their name, logos and/or marks on the uniform, provided that the patch or design is approved in advance by the Office of the Commissioner after consultation with the players' association."

Pick'm Week 12

It seems this year's Pick'M win % is down almost 10%, overall, from years past. Has WW Cooler gone wire to wire so far this season. Time to pick up two games on him, or he will run away with it. Might not have been pretty, but a win is a win. Who would have thought you would say the defense bailed us out. 3 games left, 2 at home...LGM.

20 games on the slate this week. First game Fri 11/15 9:00PM. Tie breaker total points scored Baylor vs WVU.

WVU Leadership Must Understand the Need for Change is URGENT…

This isn’t another Neal Brown thread. It’s about WVU and its athletics future.

I see our passionate fanbase eroding before my eyes.

One of my dearest friends and Mountaineer fan in New Jersey - who drives 6 hours to every WVU game has cancelled his hotel reservations and put his tickets up for sale.

He and others like him are not fair weather. They are simply fed up with paying $1000 for weekends in Morgantown that leave them empty and pissed.

Simply, there are far more satisfying ways to spend their money.

Many others are starting to express that it not worth it any more to go through the considerable arrangements and costs associated with a game when their home viewing offers a much more practical option. While I may not agree with them, I can certainly understand their judgements.

It’s not about a bad football season. It’s about a prolonged period of decay where we have reset what the program will tolerate in performance.

We once were dissatisfied with 9 wins. Now we lament 6-6 seasons and seem to be more focused on managing a fanbase than our program.

It’s made it no better that our BB program has been an embarrassing circus and is finally ready to start a new chapter.

College sports is changing drastically and our prolonged period of performance is putting us in danger of falling further behind and losing the one thing our Administration takes for granted - our fanbase.

Curt Cignetti gets new 8-year deal after Indiana's 10-0 start

Indiana has agreed to a contract extension with Curt Cignetti amid the Hoosiers' unprecedented 10-0 start, the school announced Saturday.

Cignetti's new eight-year contract runs through the 2032 season and will pay him an average of $8 million per year with an annual $1 million retention bonus, putting the total value of the new contract at $72 million.

Another WVU guy coaching elsewhere for millions. Oh well scratch his name off the list.
