Are you honestly trying to argue that slavery as a sanctioned practice in Rome wasn’t considered morally acceptable? In Egypt? Persia? China?
Instead of always trying to insult one of your betters, maybe you should take some time to actually understand what people are writing. You consistently miss the points being made as everyone on here has called you on it numerous times.
Yes, you are spewing bullshit. Slavery has never been moral. Hence many wars have been fought for freedom and the evil has always eventually been defeated. Slavery is immoral, always has been in the world with good people. That is the disconnect and why you continue to show stubbornness.

Slavery was never "morally" accepted. The act was accepted as a "necessary evil". If it was "morally" accepted, then why did Christians (who owned slaves) go out of their way to justify it by claiming they were "saving" the Africans from heathenry? The rich, the elites, the ruling class....yeah, they "morally accepted" slavery......the majority of people, the poor, NEVER did.
I wasn’t aware the poor controlled and set the acceptable moral standards of Rome, Mongolia, China, Persia, Egypt, Greece, etc. I doubt anyone else is aware of that fact either. Government systems and classes were set up with slavery in mind. The poor sure loved going to the coliseum to watch the gladiators.

Sorry for your inability to accept facts and that you are wrong from time to time. There were several types of slaves in the ancient world. The slavery we are talking about is a race-based slavery, targeting Africans. In Ancient Rome, they had slaves who lived like free-men......men from Greece were often sold as slaves to be teachers to wealthy children. That type of slavery may have been "morally" accepted, but the slavery in which we are talking about was NEVER accepted! The raping, murdering, lynching, etc.
Religious systems were set up with slavery in mind as well. To argue that it wasn't morally accepted in ancient civilizations is just ignoring the reality of that time, and falsely applying today's standards to that time.
It’s actually getting amusing at this point watching these two contort themselves to try and salvage some facet of the argument. It’s just an outright denial of history, sacrificing logic and reason on the altar of emotion.
I have simply laughed at the Left's "moral" outrage over slavery in this country that NO LONGER even exists based on nothing more than their current politically driven emotions. No moral "standard", no moral "code" they are using to buttress their argument, only revisionist history and manufactured guilt over something none of them had anything to do with! Again, what "morality" are they using as their standard to be so "morally outraged" over slavery?
Meantime, the current modern day "moral outrage" (infanticide through abortion on demand up to moments before an innocent child is born) draws no criticism or even raises an eyebrow from any of these charlatans. They're silent as lambs while their fellow Leftists cheer for such "immorality" or raw indifference for the sanctity of innocent human Life. You do realize the clear majority of Republicans poll as being in favor of abortion as well, right? Maybe not.

A "Pro choice" Republican could never win the party's nomination nor secure the party's base. A "Pro Life" Democrat wouldn't make it past New Hampshire.

First. It's hard to take you seriously with your with little mammy caricature sig there. Let me establish that. Second, I am not arguing for unadulterated abortion rights. Just pointing out the fact that you are blaming "leftist" when in fact your own party supports it in majority. If not, your owning all branches of government until recently would have worked to overturn it. Yet, remained a talking point. Let's not shift the argument.
The Republican party is "Pro Life". Period. Some Republicans do favor high taxes and big deficits, but the Republican party stands for limited Government and lower taxes. Period.
A Pro choice, high taxing, big spending Republican could NEVER win the Republican party's nomination. Period. That candidate would have a better chance winning the Democrat nomination, where a Pro Life, low taxing, limited Government candidate would get booed off the stage just like Colorado Govenror John Hickenlooper was recently booed when he told California Democrats to give up their ideas of a Socialist utopia.

FYI Black Families remained largely "intact" until roughly the mid to late 60's and the advent of the Left's "Great Society" social Welfare programs in the so called "war on poverty". Fast forward 50 years, and Black families today on average are in worse shape as a direct result of those misguided policies than they were after 150 years of slavery.

I'm with you on a perpetual welfare culture. I think it doesn't do anyone any good. Black or white. West Virginia or LA. But to think that fathers and mothers being separated at the whip, bred and sold didn't have a profound impact on the culture> Whew! That is next level.
Let me ask you a question seriously. How many ex-slaves do you know? I'm Black and I honestly can tell you I don't know any! Neither did my Father who died at 79 years of age, nor his Father who died at 83 years of age, nor his Father (My great Grandfather)...I'm not sure when he died, but my Grandfather told me he wasn't a Slave.
The Left acts as if slavery in this country ended two weeks ago, and Black folks are still recovering from the nightmare!
