My comment had nothing to do w/ taking any criticism. My comment was more specifically about the uncivil discourse on here. That was the reference to cesspool. And the other part of the comment about it being boring was in regards to how everyone just posts the same point of view over and over again. There is next to zero gray areas to discuss on this board. So, its just people yelling at each other instead of discussing anything. If you like that kind of thing then good for you. That's not how I live my life off this board, but as I said before it certainly does affect the way I communicate with people here. I have to own up to my own actions, but its not going to get any better here regardless of what one or two people say or do. There are too many trolls on here for it to get any better.
We have great discussions but when someone like you starts calling everyone who disagrees with them alt right or racist or a qanon or whatever of the many names you love it makes your whole civil discourse cry a bit hypocritical. On this forum you get about exactly what you give and if you actually read it and paid attention you see the folks who get civil discourse and who doesnt.
Fair enough...as I've said I need to take responsibility for my tone. But you are certainly not one to talk about tone. You rarely have a civil conversation on here. I don't see many if any ideas you contribute. I do pay attention and you are definitely not in the civil discourse group.
I dont talk about tone. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of it all. You should read more. There are good discussions here but that ended on a large scale when every day was hate trump and hate his supporters.
And for good reason. Trump is a schmuck. I don't hate all his supporters though. And I will not resort to name calling of other posters here any more, but I do reserve the right to continue to call Trump a schmuck, because I know he is. I don't necessarily talk that way about other politicians I don't like, because for the most part I don't think they are bad people...they just have different views. I believe Trump to be a bad person in general. But that doesn't excuse me acting like an asshole to people on here.

Tar Heel erased my Confederate Flag post back on the mid 2000s. A post on the Confederate Flag History and origins as the Battle flag of Northern Virginia and how the kkk mainstreamed the flag and only until the civil rights movements did the Southern states incorporate portions of Confederate Flag Into their state flags. I communicated the Fag should be removed from SC state capital grounds and how treasonous and reprehensible the flag is to me (as a veteran serving in the intelligence community) and to minorities.
He continually erased the posts.

I'm not against the Constitution because it limits the Government. Most folks who want no limits on Government can't stand the Constitution.
People who argue for abortion never argue for killing Babies. Never. To them those aren't Babies. They're merely "choices". Ironically, no one who insists on the "choice" to end an unwanted pregnancy can argue that can be accomplished without the "choice" being killed first.
There is no other way to end an unwanted pregnancy without killing the selected "choice". So in an odd way, "pro choice" could actually logically be argued as "anti-choice", since the "choice" must cease to exist in order to be completed.
Think about it.

I will honestly challenge you to defend any position on the Left you care to defend...and I will honestly attempt to understand why you believe that position is superior to any competitive alternatives, using facts, data, historical analysis, performance results, and metrics against opposing alternatives that clearly prove the superiority of your position.
I can honestly do that with virtually any program, policy or position on the right, and I can easily do so without any name calling or blatant lying. Any issue, any time. I'm that confident in the superiority of our (Right) positions.
