I'm talking about you small timeCome home for what? He's where he needs to be small time.
Then you are an azzhole. What a stupid mf statement.I'm being honest, he isn't welcomed at my alma mater. I rather go 0-12 every year
He wouldn’t win, that’s the biggest problem. People act like Brown didn’t have a better resume coming from that level of football. 10 win seasons in FCS, Sun Belt, etc means nothing for a coach’s P5 outlook. It has been 10 years since his last flirtation with P5 relevance, his last great season at WVU might as well have happened in a different sport given the landscape changes since. If people were honest, I think more and more WVU fans/alumni would be favorable to Rich coming back if they thought he would be able to win again.

Too big of an "if" in my opinion to take the risk. Need to find a quality replacement if we go that route, but that isn't it...If people were honest, I think more and more WVU fans/alumni would be favorable to Rich coming back if they thought he would be able to win again.
New age of players are wokesters.Rich may of had to tone down his coaching style from his “spot the ball” hustle to the line way of doing thing when he first showed up at WVU. Cussing a player out for not giving the ref the ball, taking the ball and kicking it up into the stands and making the player run up and get it would not work with this new age of players.
This lack of acceptance of the fact that Rich should come home is the kind of thinking that has made the state vibrant, growing, prosperous and great lol.Rich burned bridges and then went on to unimpressive stays almost everywhere else he went. There are too many other good coaches out there who don't have his baggage and poor record. This obsession with a particular coach is bordering on idol worshipping. He'll never be back here, thank goodness.
But Rod is still a fairly Rich man I would guess.Rich burned bridges and then went on to unimpressive stays almost everywhere else he went. SO is yours...stuck in 2005 wanting Dick Rod to come home....nothing like always looking to the past instead of focusing on the future....you are the biggest dumbass ever.Your opinion is just...your...opinion.
And a perfect storm of CFB not yet taken over completely by the SEC and a not as bad as advertised but still very beatable Big East.I loved Rich as our coach, but I do think he got crazy lucky with Pat White, Steve Slaton and Owen Schmitt.
FiFY, see how easy that works. This obsession with the fact that Rich should come home is the kind of thinking that has made the state vibrant, growing, prosperous and great lol.
This thread perfectly demonstrates the pathos of the people here - anything good that comes to us is directly the result of sheer luck while every failure is self-inflicted and unforgiveable.
Your opinion only. Means nothing.Acting like CFB, and WVU’s situation now vs when Rich was here are not completely different is incredibly naive. He was the right coach for that time, he is not the right coach 16 years later while playing from behind most of our conference rivals and NIL being a major recruiting factor with presently an offense that is also yet to surpass 20 points in a game vs FBS competition.
Twat stuck on auto play lolYour opinion only. Means nothing.
Kind of like you telling everyone your hopes and dreams of RichRod returning means nothing as well.Your opinion only. Means nothing.
Rich only in elements found in human excrement....But Rod is still a fairly Rich man I would guess.
And what besides learning how to use chewing tobacco have you ever accomplished?Rich only in elements found in human excrement....
I don’t know why people are still sore over Rodriguez leaving. He left for a better job opportunity. Most people in his shoes would’ve done the same. While he may not have left the right way or right time for the program, people forget why he did what he did. He was promised a lot of things when he turned down Alabama, and he claims WVU did not honor those handshake agreements. Whether anyone believes him or not, the fact remains there was obviously tension and disagreement between Rodriguez and the WVU AD. It’s been 16 years. It’s time to move on. We all learn from experiences and gain wisdom with age. It’s time to forgive and forget. That said, I think if the time is right for both Rodriguez and WVU, then we should consider bringing him back. WVU football has not been remotely close to anything he built here since Rod left.Your opinion only. Means nothing.
We won an Orange Bowl 2 staffs removed from Rod and were a terrible personal foul call away from the Big XII title game long after his time. The Neal Brown years are the only time this program has been objectively bad for a sustained period of 4+ years under a coaching staff since the 70s, we don’t have to go dumpster diving for a coach who is also 0 for 2 in breaking 20 points against D1 competition this year because he was great for a short period of time with a QB he initially had on the bench behind Adam Bednarik well over a decade ago.I don’t know why people are still sore over Rodriguez leaving. The recruitment of Austin, Geno, and Bailey were coming off the heels of 3 straight 11 win seasons and 3 straight 9 win seasons under a former Rodriguez assistant. Those 3 players and others were responsible for that Orange Bowl. To think WVU football has been on the Rodriguez level since he departed is insane. The results show this. And also, Pat White was a true freshman. It’s not exactly crazy that he started on the bench behind Bednarik to begin the season. While your emotions don’t like Rod, his overall HC record shows he’s not a joke or loserrich is a joke and a loser. would not take him back if he worked for free
It kind of does since he left the Big East and played in conferences that would be more in line with the Big XII he would have to coach in. He is 58-57 (30-48) as a power conference coach following his departure from WVU. He is also 6 years removed from “big boy” football. While your emotions don’t like Rod, his overall HC record shows he’s not a joke or loser
Lol jfc those were Stew’s recruits that he was able to bring in and retain their commitments despite a massively disappointing 2008 season basically on the promise of running a pro style spread, which RR would have explicitly not offered. Bailey actually was a freshman 2010, are you going to say Grier came here because of Rod also? The recruitment of Austin, Geno, and Bailey were coming off the heels of 3 straight 11 win seasons and 3 straight 9 win seasons under a former Rodriguez assistant. So your argument is the record doesn’t influence recruiting elite players? Why haven’t we been able to find them lately? Maybe because we aren’t winning? You think Tavon, Geno, and Stedman would’ve signed today? You think the program winning 60 games over a 6 year stretch had nothing to do with getting them? You think Stewart didn’t recruit under Rodriguez staff and it didn’t help him get Geno, Stedman, and Tavon? You’re blinded by hurt emotions because Rod left and unwilling to acknowledge facts.Lol jfc those were Stew’s recruits that he was able to bring in and retain their commitments despite a massively disappointing 2008 season basically on the promise of running a pro style spread, which RR would have explicitly not offered. So you think Rod played weak opponents in the Big East? Why did that Big East do so well in the bowl games against the other top conferences? Why did Rodriguez and WVU beat the SEC champion Georgia in the Sugar Bowl? Why did Rodriguez WVU team beat the Big 12 Champion Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl? How did that happen? Or did you choose to ignore those facts? It kind of does since he left the Big East and played in conferences that would be more in line with the Big XII he would have to coach in. Basically your entire argument hinges on the hope that he will be able to replicate 2005-07 despite him not showing the ability to do that anywhere else in 16 seasons. This is worse than the calls to hire Terry Bowden when Rod originally left. At least Bowden had an undefeated season in a serious conference to point to.
Well, they were improving each year under Rodriguez. You can look it up. Michigan was impatient and demanded immediate results. Rodriguez won at Arizona. You can look that up as wellBy this logic, surely RR did great at the winningest program in CFB history… oh wait
