MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 17, 2025) Sophomore Chase Meyer of the West Virginia University baseball team has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.

In two appearances, Meyer went 2-0 while striking out 12 in 5.2 innings against Towson and Oklahoma State. He did not allow a hit or a run in his two outings.

Getting the start against Towson, he tossed 2.0 innings with three strikeouts before closing out an 8-6 win on the road at Oklahoma State on Sunday with 3.2 hitless innings. He struck out nine of the 12 Cowboys he faced and retired the final eight batters to come to the plate.

It is his first-career Big 12 honor and the 22nd time in program history that a Mountaineer has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week. He is the second Mountaineer pitcher this season to take home the award after redshirt senior Griffin Kirn earned it on March 3.

The Mountaineers will be back home this week for five games, beginning with two against James Madison on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, before playing a three-game set against Arizona.
