MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Dec. 2, 2024) – The West Virginia University women's basketball team fell three spots this week to No. 15 in the fourth edition of the AP Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountaineers are 8-1 this season after dropping their first game to now No. 4 Texas. The loss is the first in a regular-season nonconference game under second-year head coach Mark Kellogg.
WVU earned 390 points in the poll. A total of four Big 12 teams appeared in the rankings, including No. 9 TCU (513), No. 13 Kansas State (425) and No. 20 Iowa State (176). Baylor and Utah are featured in the receiving votes section.
Additionally, the NCAA’s first NET ranking of the season was released and has the Mountaineers seated at No. 10.
The Mountaineers return to the floor on Friday, Dec. 6, when they host East Tennessee State for Education Day inside the WVU Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 10:30 a.m. ET.
