WVU vs Texas Tech Highlights

Grier and WVU were unstoppable early, then stopped doing what they were doing for the rest of the game.

The defense also was tough early, then wore down trying to keep up with the #1 offense in the nation, even though Tech was down to its THIRD quarterback in the 2nd half.

Grier had 370 passing yards and 3 TD passes with no interceptions, but then came the sitdown strike instead of TD strikes.

Tech made its comeback from a 25-point deficit with its THIRD-string QB when Bowman went down after being sandwiched by two WVU defenders.

WVU rushing wasn’t great, with 119 yards (77 by Kennedy McCoy), and Tech had 168 on 10 more carries than the Mountaineers used on the ground.

Simms got the most receiving yards (138 on 9 catches) but caught 2 of Grier’s 3 TD passes.

Defense saved the day with Keith Washington’s 51-yard pick-6. Kenny Robinson had 2 interceptions. A good day there for Gibby’s guys.

WVU had NO kick or punt returns, which is unusual in any game.

Punting was about equal, 41.6 yard average on Kinney’s 5 boots for WVU and 40.6 for 5 tries for Tech by Panazollo.

Hey, we got the W and we're 4-0. Virginia would love to say that. And Clemson barely survived an unranked opponent. At least WVU got the late heebee-jeebees against the #1 offense in the nation. I know, making the comeback with their THIRD-string QB.
