WVU Steals (pun intended) Ok's 2 Seed...

Lunardi says "nope". Unless we beat Kansas, then possibly. But Lunardi said that losing to WVU would NOT cost OU a 2 seed. So, with KU being a 1 seed, and him confident OU a 2 seed, no shot that we get another 2 seed and have the Big 12 getting all those top seeds. Stinks, but that's how it is.....

Guess what ? My opinion is just as valuable as Lunardi when it comes to actually seeding teams.

I watched the game and heard/watched the same interview as you btw.

I would think so but I'm always wrong. In 2010 I thought we should have been a 1.

2010 ?

I can't (honestly) remember what I did yesterday. ...but I'm fairly sure I'd disagree with you about that opinion.

Yes, the Final 4 team. Huggins agreed with me, actually. After Selection Sunday he said we should have been a 1 seed.

Well, Huggins has a worse memory than me... ..and until he wins a national title projecting his team as a number 1 seed means much more than nothing. What coach can't do that...?

Any coach could do that, but he had a reasonable argument. That's the difference.

Pretending he's senile AND a bullshitter? Why would a WV fan make a ridiculous statement like that?

Sorry, but compared to Lunardi your opinion isn't worth **** when it comes to seedings. Do you get paid to pick the field? He's pretty damn accurate, well over 90%. I'll trust his judgement douche.....

WV has one more W than OU and got it head to head on a neutral court.

It also finished higher than OU in both regular season & conf tourney.

Add in would-be-2 seed Xavier lost to unranked Seton Hall last night.

Cannot see how a 26-win WVU team has not earned a two seed. I can't think of a stronger resume in program history.

I'm sorry but didn't WVU finish ahead of Oklahoma in the Big12 final standings and just beat Oklahoma last night?

What's so wrong about giving WVU a 2 and giving Oklahoma a 3? This is a perfect example of how the media can distort people's opinions by constantly drooling over a player. Hield is a GREAT player but WVU deserves the 2 over Oklahoma.

I know they don't want to hurt Buddy's feelings but uh sorry.

With our luck we'll get a 2-seed and get teed up to play a hot Kentucky 3-seed down the line.

Lgm!

What about this scenario? We take the final 2 seed that is supposed to be paired with the no. 1 overall seed (Kansas). Would the committee put us on a path for a 4th meeting with Kansas?

I'd want no part of that scenario. Give me the top 3 seed in another region please if that's the deal for a 2.

In other news... ...as pointed out in this thread, Lunardi moved WVU up to a two seed after last nights game.

So it seems your pro agrees with this douche.

Let me guess, you watch ESPN when they make their "expert" picks and actually think they're more accurate than the average Joe Blow ? Comical.

I watched what Lunardi said before last night's game. They asked him if a win over OU drops them or raises us, he said "don't think so". Guess he lied to himself then.

Your hero just switched us again (after ACC final)... ...back down to a three seed.

If someone offers me a dollar I'll share my 'professional' opinion.... ...but until then you can just toss personal insults around.

Let them piss off the team by handing them a 3. It could be a favor.

26 wins, 2nd place regular season, 2nd place conference tournament in the No. 1 league = 2 seed to even the casual observer. Who then gets a 2? Xavier? Lost to Seton Hall. Oklahoma? Just lost head to head to WV on neutral floor and has one fewer win period.

A 3 will field a bunch of questions & fuel the chip on the shoulder. Either way I'm rooting for the best match-up.

I'd take a three over a two seed if that got us put in the East Regional.

Can agree. I'd selfishly want an appearance in the West as I think the regional is in Anaheim & I'd go if possible. Was so happy to see the team play in Vegas & beat Richmond and SDSU.

Am all in for the best match-up no matter seed/location.
