WVU opens at a -1 favorite and is now a 1 point dog? Seems odd...

This game scares me as it always will ever since that dang loss a few years ago coming after the Texas win. Dang wind all over the place, rumors that Geno and Bailey fighting, etc. etc.

That was one of the hardest losses I ever took for whatever reason. I kept thinking we would make a run and it never happened. Season imploded soon after that one.

Either way, really surprised that we are now an underdog.

I'm seeing WVU opening line with TT -1....although local books usually take a one point spread and make it -1 on the team you wager on (which is a big swing).

TT is now -2.

Tough one.

You guys are right I read it wrong. Opened TT -1, went to -2, and now showing WVU -1.

Interesting indeed... Not that a 3 point jump is a lot, but odd early money went on TT and then a bit more on WVU. I could see this jumping to -3 by the end of the week.

Hope you're right. This one scares the crap out of me. Haven't seen this team on the road yet to trust them. Different animal going on the road, especially in a hostile environment.

It will be a tough game its also Homecoming week in lubbock

I can explain the -1, -2, -1 thing. WV and TT will go into the game confused. There is no other reason the odds makers would do this to these teams. Call Vegas if you don't believe me.

I've never been a betting man but I occasionally play a 12 game parlay card for a few bucks. One thing my late father taught me early on was to always leave the WVU game alone on a parlay, saying that you'd lose every time if you bet either way on the EERS. Over the years I've seen his advice prove true. Vegas was built on people like us............

I hit a 12 teamer and a 10 teamer when in college. The bookies in Uniontown were not happy. Not huge money because I wasnt betting much but damn good feeling hitting a a big parley.

I preferred 3 or 4 teamers.

Did my best and still do on 2 teamers.

I thought they opened and remained as 1 point dog. I don't care that we are dogs in Vegas, but I do worry about the lack of respect across the board

WV will get respect after (and only after) they earn it...............on the football field. History says that once the Mountaineers get ranked they go into a spin in the wrong direction. Let's beat TT and a couple more ...................and then ask where the respect is. It will be there.

Great story! Your late father was a wise man! Very true words he spoke!

Aren't parlay cards "for entertainment purposes only"?

They do add interest to the games, and I'm sure the bookies that distribute them are very entertained while they collect our money. I never have put more than 5 bucks on one, and I haven't done that very many times. My grand dad didn't pay attention to the points or who was who on the top of the card, he just circled numbers in a certain pattern on the bottom portion (same pattern every time) and he did much better than I ever did.

It you got all 11 games right they should give you the Vegas casino. Do you realize the odds of getting that right. You're just picking the winner but the victory margin. I college football, that's almost impossible. In a year when 10 top 25 teams fall on the same day, it's slim to none, and Slim is riding out of town on his burro.

that's why I gave it up long ago. I can get better odds by throwing my money into the Monongahela River and then coming back a week later to see how much of it I can find.

$ 5 is the most I ever put on a 12 team parlay, and I haven't done that very many times. 5 bucks won't buy you a Big Mac and a small Coke nowadays so it's not like I'm betting the ranch.

Here's the line history from opening on 10/9 through the changes to today. Game is now a PICK on most books. Chart is a little hard to read but it includes the money beginning on 10/10.

I'm in Vegas right now and the book at Cosmopolitan is showing something unusual for the WVU/TT money line. WVU is -120, but TT is even. Never seen that before on a money line, it's always the favorite minus and the underdog plus.

Last I saw, WVU was a 1-point favorite. I think it's safe to say this game is a tossup. Till the kickoff, that is. Then what happens on the field will decide which one is the better team on that day.

Let's gooooooooooooooooo, Mountaineers!!!
