Not sure where this guy got this from

West Virginia University is once again shaking up its football wardrobe. Sometime in 2025, during a yet-to-be-determined home game, WVU will debut the latest addition to its growing collection of eye-catching uniforms: the Greenbrier Valley edition.

For those keeping score, this follows the Cardinal Red and Wicked Witch versions. A leaked rendering of the Greenbrier Valley edition has surfaced online.

The Greenbrier Valley edition of WVU’s uniform embodies the lush, rolling landscapes and historic elegance of the region while still bringing that bold, modern edge that Mountaineer football demands. Here’s how it will look:

Helmet:

  • Deep Evergreen Base – A rich, forest green color representing the dense woodlands of Greenbrier County.
  • Gold Filigree Accents – Inspired by the ornate designs of The Greenbrier Resort, subtly worked into the striping.
  • White Outline of the Greenbrier River – Flowing along one side of the helmet, giving a topographical nod to the area.

Jersey:

  • Sage Green with Gold Trim – A softer green than the helmet, reflecting the valley’s rolling meadows.
  • Cursive ‘Mountaineers’ Across the Chest – A font inspired by the elegant signage of White Sulphur Springs resorts.
  • Coal Black Numbers with Gold Outlines – A nod to the area’s Appalachian roots while keeping the look sharp and readable.

Pants:

  • Off-White (‘Resort Cream’) with Gold Striping – Mimicking the clean, classic aesthetic of The Greenbrier’s famed architecture.
  • Subtle Leaf Pattern in Fabric – A tonal design reminiscent of the valley’s natural beauty.

Cleats & Gloves:

  • Gold and Black Cleats – To tie in WVU’s traditional color scheme.
  • Green Gloves with Gold Accents – Featuring a hidden graphic of the Greenbrier Ghost (because every uniform needs a little folklore).

Bonus Detail:

  • Hidden Message Inside the Collar – “Almost Heaven” stitched in script, because no part of West Virginia embodies that phrase quite like Greenbrier County.
