WVU Release WVU Men's Soccer - No. 1 Mountaineers Set to Host UNC Greensboro

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Sept. 16, 2024) The No. 1 West Virginia University men’s soccer team returns to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium, Tuesday, Sept. 17, to take on UNC Greensboro. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.



Nick Farrell and Adam Zundell have the call of Tuesday's contest on ESPN+. The game also can be heard on 91.7 FM (WWVU) in Morgantown, and live stats are available at WVUsports.com.



Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $6 each. Any remaining tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth at the stadium ticket window on match day. Tickets for WVU students are free with a valid student ID.



It will be International Student Night as all international students are encouraged to come out to this game for the start of Diversity Week on campus. Fans also will have chances to win prizes with men’s soccer trivia throughout the game.



West Virginia is coming off a scoreless draw at Loyola Marymount to wrap up a two-game road swing in California. WVU opened the trip with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over California Baptist.



The Mountaineers have one of the most dangerous attacks in the nation as they are fourth in the nation in scoring (3.00), first in shots on goal per game (9.40), second in shots per game (20.20), and first in corner kicks per game (8.00).



Graduate students Sergio Ors Navarro (14) and Simon Carlson (12) are both in the top 10 in points. Ors Navarro is second in the nation with seven goals while Carlson has four assists, 10th most in the country.



Redshirt senior Marc Bonnaire has made seven saves in goal for the Mountaineers, collecting three shutouts in the process.



UNC Greensboro is 3-1-2 on the season and is coming off a scoreless draw against No. 19 Charlotte.



Enzo Dovlo leads UNCG with four goals while Yoshiya Okawa has two assists. Seth Wilson has made 20 saves and has four shutouts in goal this season.
