West Virginia picks up a commitment from Gardner-Webb transfer Tyler Switalski.

2023 at Gardner-Webb: Selected Second-Team All-Conference as a Starting Pitcher ... Named Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week twice (3/20 & 4/3) ... Served as the #2 starter for the Runnin' Bulldogs starting in all 15 outings of his ... Posted an 8-5 record which was tied for the second most victories by a pitcher within the Big South ... Had a 5.60 ERA over 80.1 innings and fanning 80 batters (149th in NCAA), latter two each ranked 5th most in the conference ... Averaged 5.36 innings/game and 8.96 K/game ... Team notched eight consecutive victories, picked up seven of the decisions, in his starts going undefeated in over two months of action ... Clinched the team's playoff berth in his decision against Charleston Southern after going 6.2 innings allowing three runs (5/19) ... Threw his first career complete game against St. Bonaventure (3/11) in a 7-inning matchup while only allowing one run and fanning nine ... Struck out a season-high 10 batters against Radford over seven innings after allowing no runs and only two hits ... Held the opposing team to three or fewer runs in nine starts ... 2022 at Gardner-Webb: Served as the #2 starting pitcher in his debut season ... Appeared in 16 games with 15 starts going 5-5 on the year ... Had a 4.13 ERA, fourth-lowest on the team and Top 10 in the Big South among starters ... Tied for the league-lead in games started (15) ... Had 9th most innings pitched (72.0) and opposing batting average (.251) among all conference pitchers ... Went a career-high 7.0 innings two times allowing 0 runs in both outings with the first against Brown (3/13) and the second at North Carolina A&T (5/20) ... Struck out a career-best 11 batters in the Brown outing as well ... The Brown game also served as his first career win.

High School: Joins the Runnin' Bulldogs from Waynesburg Central High School, where the left-handed pitcher/first baseman posted a perfect 0.00 ERA and .364 batting average with 20 RBI during his sophomore season ... Named one of the top-500 high school players by Perfect Game and also earned 2020 Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American honors ... Two-time All-County selection ... Also played for the Beaver Valley Red travel team, earning All-Tournament team honors on multiple occasions.
