The college football “The Savior Almighty‘ model comprised of the blind pursuit of a Head Coach at any cost is flawed at its core. It’s why it fails 98 out of 100 times.

Why no one has really developed a true ‘corporate model‘ is a bit perplexing. There is talk of the CEO head coach but seems like when the head coach goes it means throwing everything out the door and starting from the ground up. I can’t think of any other business that operates like this or could survive that level of disruption which is probably why you never see it In industry.

Someone will build a program one day that creates a level of sustainable success where pieces can be changed out but the infrastructure exists where it’s not rip it down and start over every three years. I bet you a dollar that in the next 5 years or so you start to see non-football hires as ‘head coaches‘ or different org / leadership structures emerge.….. the Guaranteed $100 million dollar pray for a championship model is a fools game driven by ADs that have shown they really can’t think outside the box.
