MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Jan. 25, 2024) The No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team plays host to its third top-25 matchup of the year against defending Big 12 champion and No. 2 Missouri on Friday, Jan. 26. Start time for the event is slated for 7 p.m. ET at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown.

Friday’s matchup has been declared Military Appreciation Night, where military service members will be honored prior to the dual. Any military service members in attendance will also get free admission with a valid ID. It also marks the final Weekday Happy Hour of the season from 6-7 p.m. What’s more, the first 500 fans through the gates receive a WVU wrestling mat rally towel as well as a camo slap koozie courtesy of Coca-Cola if you end up as one of the first 250.

Fans not in attendance can catch all the action on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and follow along with live stats on Trackwrestling.

“When you have the No. 2 team in the country coming into your home, you have to get out there and fight,” sixth-year head coach Tim Flynn said. “There are going to be a lot of good matchups; they’re ranked at every weight, so we’re really excited about that opportunity.”

WVU (8-2, 2-2 Big 12) is in search of its first victory over the Tigers (7-0, 3-0 Big 12), who hold a 3-0 record in the al-time series. The Mountaineers previously fell to the Tigers in last year’s road dual, which was the first since the 2006 season opener. Two years earlier, the Tigers secured a seven-point win over the Mountaineers at a neutral site to begin the series in 2004.

Five Mountaineers remain steady in the FloWrestling’s individual rankings – No. 13 Jordan Titus (141), No. 9 Ty Watters (149), No. 9 Peyton Hall (165), No. 22 Brody Conley (174) and No. 28 Dennis Robin (184), while every member of Missouri’s probable starting lineup is ranked – No. 4 Noah Surtin (125), No. 24 Kaden Moore (133), No. 21 Josh Edmond (141), No. 11 Logan Gioffre (149), No. 5 Brock Mauller (157), No. 1 Keegan O’Toole (165), No. 6 Peyton Mocco (174), No. 10 Clayton Whiting, No. 6 Rocky Elam (197), and No. 6 Zach Elam (HWT).
