Worst Team Since Hinds, McCune, Forsyth Trainwreck Class....

PRESS VIRGINIA, AS IT HAS BEEN DONE PROPERLY IN PREVIOUS YEARS, IS DESIGNED TO GAS THE OPPONENTS. IF WVU IS PROPERLY CONDITIONED, AS IT WAS IN PREVIOUS SEASONS, NEARLY EVERY GAME IN THE 4TH QUARTER WENT WVU'S WAY BECAUSE THE OPPONENTS WERE SO TIRED THEY LITERALLY COULDN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT, EVEN WITH FREE THROWS. CONDITIONING, SMART AGGRESSIVENESS (HARASSMENT WITHOUT FOULING EVERY 3 SECONDS), SCORING OFF TURNOVERS WERE HALLMARKS OF PRESS VIRGINIA. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED ARE THE PLAYERS ON THIS YEAR'S TEAM. HUGGINS DIDN'T GET STUPID OVERNIGHT. THIS TEAM DID.

Huggins admitted to being backed into a corner when Carter and Miles were freshman. He literally said, "we can't score," so they had to do try something to even the odds. Press Virginia isn't a special style of play like the 90s Arkansas teams. It was done out of necessity in response to a failure to recruit offensively skilled players. Needing twenty turnovers to win a game is not a sign of good things. Imagine Holgerson expecting three interceptions a game to be competitive.

What hurts us the most is Knapper being hurt the last two years. If he stays healthy he has two solid years under his belt and he's leading this team with an awesome front court. McCabe could've come along at his own pace and been solid for his sophomore year. Beetle could spot at PG when Knapper is out. Don't forget Teddy Allen was a 2/3 that transferred away.

But yeah, it's Eron Harris year all over again. Huggs will fix it, but the best we can hope for is to have a couple of upsets at home against the upper tier of the league. This year is .500 at best.

Knapper's injury hurt from standpoint of having McCabe and Knapper in same class and each 5'10. Knapper should be a sophomore with a year's experience.

Harler should have seen the door after his freshman campaign. We would have an experienced two guard at this point who could play press virginia.

Haley was a last minute addition and clearly no one on coaching side forecasted this rotation of guards were band aids and targeting a scorer would have been useful instead of a 6-7 forward who can't score and shoot who plays PG often.

It's all bizarre.

We did need 3 INT's to compete on defense against elite teams.

Yes, and imagine the firestorm on this board if people were defending loses to non-P5 schools in football because the defense wasn't holding up its end by forcing 3 picks and recovering 2 fumbles. It's a preposterous expectation.

Poll every D1 coach in the country, give them the hypothetical of needing 20 plus turnovers a game to win, and ask them if they'd conclude their team was in a good state. None would answer "yes."

So do we Blue Lotters...but Wichita State won't even look at our highlight tapes...what does that tell you???
What? Why would WSU even consider watching WVU highlight tapes, and how would you now that?
