Strong and continual improvement in academics in many fields of study is at the top of my list and I think the University has made great strides in that area in the last decade. Particularly in the School of Business with new facilities and in the School of Media (J-school) as well as in Medicine, Engineering and some areas of research.

The way that the University enhances Morgantown and the State as a whole with main campus expansions and the satellite campuses evolving to a true state-wide institution.

Athletics is important, and nationally the most visible, but I'd rather hang my hat on the things of greater benefit to the citizens of WV as a whole.

The fact that we can be so competitive at a high level with the lack of resources at our disposal tells you why most of us are proud. We have always been and always will be the "underdog" and we love that role! We don't have the biggest stadium, or nicest facilities, or money pouring in from private donors like some, but we always find a way to compete. Mountaineer Nation is strong and when we are united we are a force to be reckoned with.

Without WVU and the education and opportunity the school provided me I wouldn have the life I have. I wouldn't have made the friends/connections/in roads nor would I have been prepared for the trials and tribulations along life's way. The experiences from my 7-8 years in the 26505 I can't really put a price on. I will say what I paid in education, room, & board was a bargain for what my 3 sheep skins and knowledge attained there have allowed me to have and experience.

That's not the entirety to where my pride for WVU comes from, but it's a good start.

My only regret and its not really a regret is having the initials PE after my name instead of MD. I like being an engineer but I wish I would have done medicine.

Started way before I got my degree from WVU. Born in Morgantown and was surrounded by hard working folks...including my Dad who was a coal miner. People were also trust worthy and helpful to those in need. Great traits to grow up around. The University and its mission gave a lot of the kids of these hard working 'eers the chance to go to college and progress. The athletics reflected the same approach to sports and took pride in taking on the big cats. Again, a great trait to grow up around. Half a century later and living in the sunshine state, my wife and I travel back to Motown to catch games, revive relationships, and bask in the clear air of our native mountains and roots.Born a Mountaineer and forever will be a Mountaineer.

Because we own the market on trees in the Big 12, you ol' rabble-rouser. The next time your hound has to take a leak, try finding one that ain't used up in Kansas.

Those poor pups of the Plains and their exploding bladders. It's a national tragedy.

Speaking just for me and some folks from Tennessee......................I am proud that WV legalized the taking of 'roadkill' for use at the table. The Texas law makers should take heed. There are armadillos all over the highways out here that could and should find their way to the eating table!

We're getting the armadillos up here in Georgia from the Gulf Coast area now. I've seen them as far north as Perry along I-75. They had to put out a public service announcement down there not to eat the "possum on the half shell" as them dang 'dillos can carry some kind of parasite that can be lethal to humans even if you cook the sh*t out of it.

So, Ol' Warez, be careful about which roadkill you go after! Me, I stick with the squirrels and groundhogs if they ain't tore up too bad.

Never ceases to amaze me how a thread can take a sudden detour...

You got that right ole son! I am the one responsible for making the Wrong Turn. I have been made sick offen roadkill more than onct and should know better. Warez

At certain times of the year, the interstate from Meridian, MS. to Birmingham, Al. is paved with armadillo shells. When they get to mating they don't care where they do it or what's rolling down on them. Possums are brainiacs compared to armadillos.

They called 'em "Hoover Hogs" during the Depression ,they were such popular table fare. Yeah, they'll give you leprosy, but antibiotics will clear that up nowadays.
