--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown was proud of how his team responded. Texas continued to compete and it’s a good reflection on that staff. It gets the Mountaineers to five and keeps them alive for another week. He wanted to thank the fans. There is no school next week and the students showed up and participated. The fans were a factor in the game and they had three official visits, 20+ guys that had offers so they are a factor. It was senior day and he’s proud of those guys. Brown didn’t make a big deal out of who walked and he said some of the guys that walked will likely come back. It’s a weird time for a senior day and he said he didn’t push them and will make decisions after that. Brown said that he wanted to recognize the Orange Bowl team. They didn’t play clean football a week ago and they did today. They had some huge plays on third and fourth down and they scored on the red zone. Defensively they were down, they had to play Saint McLeod every snap and Scottie Young had to play a dime package with linebacker. Really proud with special teams and how the defense competed.
--On recharging after last week because it was never too late to play quality football. He knew they had it in them and the whole goal was quality football. If you handled the process right, you’ll see results. They focused on the non-negotiables and tried to build confidence. Players did a good job studying Texas and their tendencies and they did it one week but have to do it again.
--Doege is a Texas kid so that was a factor. They had some negative plays and were able to overcome those. He did a nice job and was really accurate and put the ball in good spots.
--The plan was to drop eight on defense and they were intentional about keeping the ball in front of them. They felt that if they could keep them in front of them they’d have a chance.
--Brown said field goal you bring the block into the equation. If you run the ball it doesn’t help time wise. The punt, they’ve blocked punt. He felt they were going to play for run so they called the play that was going to be a touchdown or incompletion. That was his thinking on the fourth down.
--Struggled with the run early and then got into a rhythm. They ran hard and did a good job covering them up. Hard earned 158 yards for Leddie Brown.
--Offensive line has played much improved since the bye week.

He’s played his best football and is a guy that definitely increased his stock with NFL scouts and has put himself in position to win the William Campbell Trophy which is a great honor. They got them on fourth down and he made a play with a nice run after the catch.
