--Head coach Neal Brown said that he credits the fans for showing up. He credits the Penn State team but he felt that West Virginia played bad football. Special teams is the only phase of the game that they gave themselves a chance to win. He is disappointed with how they played and it was on a big state and they played poorly. It starts with him and he said they didn't put their players in chance for success and their best players didn't play very well. Josiah Trotter played at a high level, Anthony Wilson is much improved but outside that none of the players played at a level to win that game.

--Wyatt Milum was dealing with cramps in the second half but he played very well when he did.

--Snaps were an issue but his team did not play with the discipline required to win a game like this. They're a veteran group so his expectations are high and they didn't come close to meeting those expectations. On defense, Penn State hurt them in space and they have to do a better job tackling in space and they had several opportunities with 50-50 balls and they made the plays. The end of the first half should never happen. Brown said he watched every play of the first half and he wants some explanation on some things that happened in the first half. The touchdown at the end of the first half the ball was moving and it never went to replay. The officiating is really hard and the crew did a nice job and that's in live time but you shouldn't have mistakes in replay.

--West Virginia didn't play well in the second half so it wasn't a factor in the game but he doesn't want to forget about that. West Virginia had two critical jobs in the second half and they made those plays last year and all camp. The defense had them in third and long and couldn't get them off the field. Bottom line is West Virginia played poorly and he says that giving credit to Penn State and that's more than they're capable enough and that wasn't good enough.

--The worst thing about this is when you see this coming you can do something about it but they have a veteran group offensively. There should not have been this anxiety or lack of execution and there just was. They never got comfortable and they didn't execute. They have two defensive ends that are not good players, great players rushing the passer but they didn't give themselves a chance.

--West Virginia wanted to be aggressive in the game and they called a go-ball. If they could do it again they likely would have made them throw it underneath.

--It's not serious for Wyatt Milum but he locked up, He had full body cramps. He really did well while he was out there.

--Jahiem White got banged up.

--West Virginia motions and shifts a bunch, but on the two bad snaps they were going to have positive plays. They got away from it after those bad snaps and Brown said it wasn't on the center.

--You should be low on a quarterback sneak and they were too high. They didn't have a good enough short yardage plan going into the game. Playing with pad leverage and understanding situational football you have to be really low on a sneak and get pushed in a gap. They got beat at Baylor and they lost one today.

--West Virginia watched the game during the delay, they had several of them cramp. Tried to settle down and come up with a plan. Didn't find out Wyatt Milum wasn't going to go until right before they came out. If they could have gotten some stops on the initial drive.

--Brown said they didn't win today and it was a big game. They didn't produce, they were not productive but he doesn't know if it was because it was a big game or the first game. They didn't play well enough but they didn't play well enough today to win.

--West Virginia had some injury stuff and Aubrey Burks got hurt early and they had to retool what they were doing. They didn't have a single injury during camp and they had several in this game.

--Penn State ran a switch concept on the first touchdown and they were in a man look and it was good for them.

--Garrett Greene was not good enough. He didn't play good enough and he knows it and nobody is more disappointed than him. He didn't perform well enough.

--One the edge you lose contain and they didn't have good eyes and they missed some tackles to allow Drew Allar to pick up yards with his legs. He executed at a higher level than West Virginia did.

Coach Brown, if the team wasn't prepared to play the game, then what is your plan to address the coaching staff to ensure this doesn't happen again?

Coach Brown, just for clarification are you saying this team doesn't get up for big games?

Coach Brown, you said you didn't have a good enough short yardage plan, how are you going to address that for future games?

A lot of finger pointing at the players is what I read. Not to mention the soft response to his decision to be "aggressive" with 32 seconds remaining and allow the deep pass, saying if they could do it over they would have done it different and forced an under neath ball........DUH!
