--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown offers his condolences to the flood victims of eastern Kentucky.

--Kelly Zinn took a new job at LSU and he wishes her the best, she was a tremendous asset to the program but they'll be in good hands moving forward.

--Eight weeks in the summer to work and this summer was the first where they could have OTAs and they paid off. As he talked to Mike Joseph, they were around the players in OTAs and position meetings and from an alignment and assignment standpoint they are further ahead. Mike Joseph feels strongly that this was a successful summer and that's the first time that he has came to him and said that in his four years here.

--Guys were excited today to practice in helmets for 1:45 and it was two spotting so everybody got reps. Energy was good and knowledge of what to do was as good as it's been.

--TE Will Dixon has arrived and is practicing today. Exree Loe practiced today and is getting really close. Mike O'Laughlin will be limited early on but they are cautiously optimistic about how they are proceeding.

--The way the OTAs are structured is you can't go against anybody but you can work on alignment and assignment. Everybody knew what to do, but they have to get better at their reactions of playing against somebody and the timing. What they asked them to do in their day one install is they covered it three different times during the OTAs.

--Will Crowder was not out there today, he was under the weather. The other three were and there was some good and some bad. They throw on their own during the summer. A little bit late on some balls today so they have to get the ball out. They knew what to do but the timing isn't what they want it to be.

--JT Daniels, Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol all got the same amount of reps today.

--The run game will be a part of the play calling. It takes pressure off the quarterback to run the ball effectively.

--On offense Kaden Prather has changed his body and over the summer it clicked for him and understood what it took from all aspects. He did a really nice job today on the first day. Ja'Quay Hubbard continues to change his body and Jordan White is as strong as anybody they have. Justin Johnson is somebody that continues to show and he had a really good spring that carried over. Aubrey Burks firmed up his body and is playing patient. Charles Woods and Lance Dixon, too.

--Did two OTAs a week and kept them 50-minutes. Some fundamental work and low speed install work on offense, defense and special teams. When the staff was on vacation they shut them down and picked it up in the last couple weeks and it was teaching not yelling or screaming. The rule change makes sense for camp to add more days. They never practice hard more than three days in a row to go through camp and build up. They have a couple two day breaks and it makes the most sense to keep guys fresh. Camp mode until August 25. Doing scrimmages on Thursday because they play on Thursday and the last scrimmage will be Aug. 18.

--The transfers in the secondary have to help. They needed experience coming out of spring although they like the young guys on the roster like Andrew Wilson-Lamp. Rashad Ajayi and Wes McCormick are going to compete to play.

--Saint McLeod is not with the team and doesn't foresee him being during fall camp. Jasir Cox can play nickel and spear.

--West Virginia is at 81 scholarships and they're not closed when it comes to possibly adding some positions but wants to keep some spots open for walk-ons. They are looking to add pieces if the right people come available.

--Two hours within the eight hour block to do the OTAs.

--Brown feels really good about Wyatt Milum switching to the left side and he's going to be special. Brandon Yates and Ja'Quay Hubbard are battling on the right side.
