--West Virginia went over 100 plays hit all four core special teams, worked goal line and a backed up situation. Did an opening drive of each half and got some good red zone work in and a third and fourth down period. Got some good work, but wasn't really fired up about all of it. The last three practices they had been trending upwards, but they were not at their best today. They have to be better than they were today, it wasn't awful but the expectations were high and it's a daily standard.

--Special teams kickoff Michael Hayes hit the ball really well and he's getting stronger. They had quality reps returning kicks. Hudson Clement is really competing and right now he would be the kickoff returner. He hit a big one in a drill. The punting team needs to be more consistent with the whole team and punt return team continues to do some nice things.

--Defensively they started off good but guys got tired and they played a lot of snaps because they want to see how guys handle it. They need to play cleaner and use better technique. The defensive line was effective today, they need to do a good job using their hands. On offense the run game got going but it wasn't clean enough but a veteran group. Garrett Greene played two series and Nicco Marchiol got a lot of reps with the ones. Preston Fox has been as consistent as anybody on the roster.

--The two deep with start narrowing down after today and they will evaluate the film from a personnel standpoint. They will do some good on good work Monday and Tuesday and will do a mock game Wednesday. This is the last time they really good live.

--Anthony Wilson was back out there but they limited him today. Kekoura Tarnue and Jaheem Joseph both made some plays.

--At this point, the schematics aren't important. It's about figuring out what they can do and executing that in the scrimmages. After today they will narrow things down because fall camp is about getting guys ready for all 12-games. You install everything you have and then when you get into game prep you narrow it down. The scrimmage is all about personnel.

--Brown said they had some issues with the tablets and helmet communication, but it's no different than any technology when it works it's great but when it doesn't it's a pain. It's up in the air who will wear the communication on defense and it's to be determined. Brown said he won't say it publicly.

--Mostly sat back and watched it, some of it you have to be quick. Some of the stuff he's getting pissed off about is it is people who are going to play and who aren't going to play. He needs to view it again to see how players did.

--Brown liked the energy from the defense at the start, but it did drop. He didn't think the offense wasn't ready to go, but they need to clear some things up.

--If a freshman can play right now, they're going to put them out there. He will have a better idea after he rewatches the film of this scrimmage and then the practices next week on who that will be.

--NFL has tablets, but they have still shots not video like the college teams can do. The UFL has the video and high school does it as well. They've got a bunch of players that have used it.

--Brown said that each offensive unit is different and Devin Carter was dealing with some lower body stuff last year that was affecting his ability to stretch the field and they moved him to the slot because it got him better match ups. They can move these current wide receivers around and utilize their skill set in the slot as well.

--Garrett Greene has played a lot of football and he has a really good idea of what he is. They didn't play Aubrey Burks or Wyatt Milum much as well. Nicco Marchiol is much improved and got a lot of quality work with the ones.

--Health wise Brown thinks they're going to be fine.

--Diore Hubbard and Traevon Dunbar both did some good things today. Jaylen Anderson had a good run today. Jack Sammarco has made a huge move.

--Khalil Wilkins struggled in his first series, then he got two more. He's talented and can really run but it's going to take some patience with him. The schematics are a lot right now and it's a lot for Ryder Burton too. Skill set wise Brown is excited about him. Burton had a great day Tuesday and Wednesday and not as good the past two days. If Nicco Marchiol has to go out there they can do what he does best.

--Zae Jennings just has to be consistent. He has courage and you don't have to talk to him about pulling his pin and he's really aggressive, but he also does some things because his eyes are undisciplined. His consistency play to play needs to be better.

--Brown said they go to school year round, there isn't as much of a transition as there used to be with freshmen.
