--West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said it’s amazing they had a chance to win the Gonzaga game because they gave up 60 points in the paint and 23 layups. They got 25 fast break points, which was a major part of what they talked about and they took advantage of their turnovers.

--Effort could be better. For the majority of the time he’s been in coaching, the players were so committed to guarding their guys and they just haven’t gotten there yet. That’s his fault and the coaching staff’s fault because they have to do a better job of demanding that.

--The Coliseum going back to before Huggins even played here, it was a great home court advantage. The fan base has grown and it’s been great for the basketball program and for the city of Morgantown itself and the economy. They miss that this year and while he wants to play as many as home so the fans can see them play, now it doesn’t really matter. For years, they’ve talked about boosting the economy and that hasn’t happened now with not allowing fans in the stands. He understands that people will criticize him about the virus, but his guys are playing because they’ve done everything asked of them.

--Isaiah Cottrell playing is a situational thing. They need to play him because they need to continue to boost his confidence because he is the most skilled but it is hard to take a guy like Derek Culver off the floor who is averaging a double-double. They’re trying to do the right thing and for now that is to continue to get Isaiah playing time and build up his knowledge of what is going on which will make him more and more of a factor.

--If they’re going to play two bigs, Oscar Tshiebwe has been forced to go out on the perimeter.

--Georgetown is pretty much perimeter oriented and that’s seemingly the wave of the future with one big and four perimeter guys. But when you have bigs like West Virginia you have to use them. Not using two bigs is the prevailing style. Teams can generate more offense by putting a guard out there.

--Huggins believes that their rebounding has saved them through four games.

--Huggins believes part of their problem is that they haven’t passed the ball very well. Three or less passes they are 15/36, four or more passes they shot 60-percent. They only passed it four or more times five times in the entire game. They have got to pass the ball and hit open guys. They hold the ball and dribble the ball too much. “It’s a fine line in that you don’t want to destroy their confidence but at the same time they’ve got to do what it takes to win games.

--It’s hard to be aggressive when you don’t get the ball which has been the case for Emmitt Matthews. West Virginia had 36 field goal attempts with three passes or less so that’s not good offense.

--Some of the issues with Sean McNeil is mechanics and they’ve guarded him good which has led to some forced shots. They have to get him better shots, because he’s frustrated because he’s making them in practice and isn’t in the games. Mechanically he’s doing some things that he hasn’t done before, but it can be fixed because he hasn’t been doing them long.

--When West Virginia brings the ball down they have guys standing open and they continue to dribble. They don’t deliver the ball or deliver it on time. A lot of being a good shooter is getting a good pass.
