--West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said that Derek Culver challenged the last shot of the game which made him throw the ball a little higher than he wanted to. They wanted to give Deuce McBride a head of steam and clear a side for him. If he got stopped Taz Sherman would have circled behind to get a shot. But if Deuce couldn’t turn the corner, they subbed in Jalen Bridges in the corner to get a shot if he got cut off along the baseline. The rest of the conversation was about getting back and not doing what they did against Texas.
--The Mountaineers were 10 for 10 down the stretch and made shots. They had opportunities, they missed free throws and turned the ball over and were their own worst enemy for a large chunk of this game but then the ball started going in for them.
