I respect his decision and agree. With the way the offense was being shutdown there was no guarantee that going for it on 4th and 2 would be a good idea. Run game was putrid, passes where being dropped and passes were a who knows where it's going variety.
IMO the clock ran out because of a discussion of going for it or kicking it. When the decision was made it was to late for the FG unit to get setup. I know they have someone watching the clock to tell them time is running out. But the coaches need to be aware of it as well.
