--West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said that they woke them up at halftime. It’s been hard given all the shifting of the schedule, but it’s better than not playing at all.

--The Mountaineers just wanted to slow North Texas down with the full court pressure, so they didn’t have to guard them with the whole clock. They tried to get as deep in the clock as they could and get a good shot, which they had success in the first half and that didn’t happen in the second.

--Oscar Tshiebwe and Derek Culver didn’t play well to start the game so that’s why they weren’t on the floor together as much. They have to come ready to play and the Mountaineers didn’t. He wanted to get a lead so they could the younger kids into the game and they weren’t able to do that because of how his team started this one. The young players were frustrated they didn’t get to play, and West Virginia didn’t play hard which really bothers Huggins as a head coach. “That was not my team out there.”

--West Virginia had some players standing there and Gabe Osabuohien is really good at flying around. That helped to generate a spark in that pressure defense.

--Richmond has a really good coach and has been there for quite a while and has recruited his type of guys. Their point guard is as good as any they will play all year. Their big is good because he can make threes and he has physical size and strength and passes the ball well. Everybody on their team can pass and they don’t throw it over people’s heads or at their feet.

--West Virginia has had several unforced turnovers and that’s carelessness. West Virginia hasn’t passed the ball very well this season.

--Tshiebwe hasn’t played well. He hasn’t run. He was as good of a runner as any power forward in the country last year, and he hasn’t done that. He hasn’t made perimeter shots. He hasn’t finished around the rim and that was something he got better and better at last year. He was bigger than all but one of their guys and didn’t finish around the rim in this one. He loves the kid and he’s not saying something disrespectful, but he hasn’t played well.

--Huggins thought and think that Sean McNeil and Taz Sherman can really shoot the basketball. Deuce and Jordan McCabe are better than average shooters and Emmitt Matthews has shot the ball better than he has since he’s been there. They believed those guys could hit shots and that hasn’t happened to this point with all of them on the floor. They need people to be more consistent and when you’re open you should have a great chance to make a shot and they haven’t. The ball hasn’t gone in for whatever reason this year despite showing they can do it in practice.
