HIs brilliance in getting the Big 12 a very good deal after the departures of Texas and OU cannot be understated. If what we are reading is true and the PAC 12 is looking at significantly less than what the Big 12 received, his skill and timing were perfect. He saved WVU a lot of money.

And I think he is on the right track vis a vis basketball. The Big 12 is becoming or has become the SEC of basketball. Two national championships in a row and 2 teams remaining in the Elite 8. Both with a punchers' chance of winning it all. It is very hard to say how all this will shake out but it is clear that the B1G and SEC will be the dominant conferences in football. I think the Big 12 is on a good path to eventually add some PAC 12 teams and ACC teams to become a more relevant football conference but well behind the B1G and SEC. So we make our mark in basketball to maintain a high profile nation wide. We lose UT and OU in basketball but add Houston, Cinci, BYU and UCF in basketball. A net gain in basketball, imo. If, and this is a big if, we add a few basketball only schools to help elevate basketball even more, that may be a good idea in solidifying the Big 12 as the preeminent basketball conference in the country by a wide margin. It increases visibility and hopefully viewership.

Given Yormark's track record thus far, he has earned our trust in doing what is best for the Big 12.
