The upcoming Pitt game reminds me of a similar game we played in ‘75 versus Cal. We were coming off a losing season and Cal was predicted to win the PAC 8 Conference Championship. They were loaded with pro talent such as Chuck Muncie, Wesley Walker, Joe Roth, Steve Rivera and kicker Jim Breech. We smoked those guys 28-14 and they never knew what hit them. Mark Burke gave Muncie a concussion in the first half. Haywood Smith, Artie Owens and Ron Lee ran all over those guys. Other than the Pitt game and the Peach Bowl victory over NC St. this was my most satisfying win. Cal ended up tying for the PAC Championship.
