UpChucky Article in the Harold-Disgrace

Doesn't seem like a big deal type of article to me. ....maybe even some truth to his opinion (which makes it more of an editorial).

Funny how Landon sees it as Huggins only recruiting these kids because Marshall wanted them and I see it as Huggins recruiting these kids because he thinks they can help WVU and are the type of players Huggins is looking for.

I wonder which reason it is?

Huggins wasting scholarships on kids just to stick it to Marshall?
Or a Hall of Fame coach recruiting kids he wants and thinks he needs at WVU?

No Landon is probably correct. Huggins is making 2 million a year, coaching in the best conference in college basketball and his only concern is recruiting kids Marshall wants just to "one up" the wrong brother.

I don't know which is worse the article or the picture of Landon taking up half the screen. Someone tell him to trim those nose hairs.

And there is absolutely zero truth to that tapestry of garbage.

Not to nitpick, but Huggs would be insulted if he knew you think he only makes $2mil.per year.

You should remember that you just replied to a poster who claims Huggs just coached a 'wasted season'.

The big question is why would Huggins want these kids? Recruiting down to Marshall isn't going to help WVU in the Big 12. He ought to be recruiting better players than these three guys.

No doubt! WVU will win games against SFA when they do better on the recruiting trail. Which does not look will happen under Huggs. His style of play is not going to attract offensive players and its a struggle to teach the ones he does get to pass and shoot well. Defense and rebounding is the way Huggs wins and out working others with players we out recruit Marshall, Winthrop, Buffalo and similar teams.

As a WV fan.............I would be embarrassed to work a coach for a measly $2.0 Million a year ($40,000 a week). Remember............. a coach has a family to feed! Thankfully, the article by ChuckieBoy didn't speak such nonsense. Huggs is probably closer to an $80,000 a week coach.

So much stupidity in one post.....

I suggest you actually take a look at what other schools are offering the guys we sign.....

Seems to me that recruiting decisions come down to what the kid and his family feel is best for them. That's the way it should be. If a school doesn't get
a recruit it isn't about whether the school is good or bad - it's about whether there is a fit. It's just not that complicated. The column does not take into
account what's best for the recruit. That's a shame, but not unexpected given the writer's reputation for trying to protect all things Marshall. In some respects
that is a big part of his job. But on this one, I believe he's just off base and actually fails to show any understanding of a recruit's (and his family's) decision
making process. Sad indeed.

I didn't know we were getting outrecruited by Southland Conference teams. Wow, the program is in bad shape indeed.

That was a waste of the three minutes i read. i'm glad i didn't read the whole thing. geesh

How sad. If it were not posted and linked here, there may have been 4 or 5 people who read the article. Now its at least twice that number who were exposed to his bullsh_t.

Where in God's name does UpChucky come up with this bullsh1t????

Talk about faulty logic and irrational reasoning. Surely he does not think Bobby H. cannot see talent when it exists and waits for the likes of a Marshall coach to uncover this talent. He asks if the happenings have been coincidence. Bu no means. It is merely two coaches seeing a decently talented player within the State and offering a scholarship. DUH!!!!!The fact that three will have made a final choice of WVU over Marshall is hardly a surprise to anyone capable of making even the simplest of rational problem solving. One is offered a FREE car with all taxes, etc paid--one is a brand new, never driven BMW and the other a twice wrecked and never fixed afterward 2004 Chevy Malibu. No one considers more than an nanosecond before making the choice. Why is the choice of where to play BB so different, except within a twisted, biased mind?
