had no idea it was this high, but WV is 2nd nationally in Free Throws Attempted per Game (28.9)

no, we're not going to knock all of them down (8th nationally FTs Made/game - 19.1), but like the offensive rebounding, getting more FT attempts should be a huge asset in the Big Dance. with the lower scoring affairs you usually see, it's all about defense, guard play & converting as many gimmes at the foul line as possible.

I believe strongly our offense is at its best with guard penetration, offsetting our own fouling by getting the other team in foul trouble too & going to the line. putting in the 2nd attempt sets the press; also great to have a pair of bigs who are pretty reliable at the line as well. so very valuable & not often talked about facet of this iteration of Press Virginia.

And this is exactly why WVU needs to shoot a high percentage at the line. Usually when they do its been a win.

Which will likely be the case tonight against Texas. We have to shoot well at the line and inside the paint. We should rebound well and get more turnovers than the first game.

i remember, back in 2009, huggins said the trend in officiating would force coaches to go with a 3 guard offense. in crunch time, we almost always have 3 guards in the game now.
