I never made it a secret that I was opposed to RichRod ever coaching our team again. Mostly because of the way he left here 17 years ago and the events that followed his departure right up to the time he got fired from Arizona. Too much baggage to ever come back here was my frame of mind. I'm still not sold that he meant everything he said today about how he should have never left, but after watching him today I do think he has regrets about leaving here when he had things rolling in his and our way.
One thing that I did like from his comments is that he is going to have our team playing with a "hard edge", something that has been missing here for a long time, and I believe him about that. I can't say I have forgiven him, or that I have forgotten, but as a lifelong Mountaineer fan I can't help myself but to wish he brings our football program back to national relevance and I like to think he will do just that.
