This is the herds favorite time of year......

Excuse me...the Catamounts 148 spots lower than MU. One has to wonder if Huggy can define the word " disingenuous" ? I understand one runs risk of " pissing him off" by asking this question! What the hell, I'll buy him a double next time I see him as a peace offering!

The Catamounts understand their place, something your glorified high school coach has yet to learn. And if you ever run into Huggy Bear you'd best steer clear. He doesn't take kindly to Herdiots.

...and let his bias towards educated West Virginians get in the way of a free double? Seems unlikely!

Go ahead and try it. Let us know how that works out for you. Maybe your time would be better spent trying to teach Danny boy something about diplomacy when it comes to dealing with future hall of fame coaches. High school tactics don't seem to be working out too well for him.

Be my pleasure to buy the old boy a libation....I kind of like Huggy and I like other people who are just as disingenuous!

Yes, it certainly did sting. It stung the wallets of those counting cash at the gates, as only 8,000 decided to show up for that huge tilt.

Play the Herd, and the cash cow roars with approval.

I don't know why you Herdiots think WVU is obligated to play you. It's even harder to understand how you can criticize our schedule when WV Wesleyan is still on yours.

Nobody is saying you're obligated to play. We're just calling you out as cowards. The ironic thing about playing WV Wesleyan is that they were a late replacement game when Huggy decided to take a powder. Hard to schedule games when cowards take last minute powders.

It also has to sting when you see that WVU can draw over 8000 fans to watch them beat a nobody while playing 150-plus miles from the Coliseum.......some 2000 more than show up to watch Marshall when they play on their home floor.

So the " MU hurts our RPI" has been exposed as the disingenuous ruse/red herring it was all along? Like Bobby told you boys' "if you're afraid, buy a dog". But don't offer weak assed excuses that don't hold water.

No excuses necessary. The plain and simple truth is WVU doesn't need to play Marshall. As Michigan Herd said, Marshall sees WVU as a "cash cow". Since D'Antoni pulled his failed PR stunt it looks like he will have to find another one.

I don't see where that was stated. Very disingenuous post on your part.

Cash for both teams as we split the gate! Not Like MU is the only one that makes money on that matchup as you seem to be suggesting!

Marshall drew a little over 5000 when they played Wesleyan. WVU sold over 8000 tickets when they played Western Carolina in Charleston. That's 13,000 tickets, you kept your gate sales, we kept ours. The last time WVU and Marshall played there were a few more than 11,000 in attendance and we split the money. It doesn't take a mathematician to see that WVU was losing money in that series . Find another cash cow.

So now we've abandoned the nonsensical RPI argument to interject Enron type accounting principles as the next disingenuous excuse. Why do you boys struggle with this issue, if you're scared just say your scared...nobody will poke holes in that argument!

What part of WVU does not need Marshall are you having trouble comprehending ? Can't blame you for wanting to have a shot at the premier college program in the state but it isn't going to happen as long as Huggins is here. D'Antoni made sure of that when he decided to poke the Huggy Bear.

So it's not fear but rather an exercise in Macheivellian principles?

347 Division 1 basketball programs and Marshall couldn't find ONE willing to play them ? That's BS and you know it.

That's correct. Specific date had to be filled, and that team needed to come to Huntington. Teams are aware of WVU's less than stellar mark in H-Town, and likely powdered out, just like Huggs.

No one visits Huntington because everyone is afraid of the Herd..........yeah, right. Keep telling yourself that.

Danny told you boys when and where ....call 1-800- The -Herd, if you work up the nerve! But we won't stand on one leg waiting for the phone to ring!

Watch what you wish for. We, in all likelihood, will be better next year and for the foreseeable future. Don't think WVU is the hill you guys want to die on anytime soon.

Nobody is disrespecting WVU's on court prowess...playing you boys "ain't no day at the beach " to be sure. But as the only two D-1 schools in the State no earthly reason why we don't toss it up and see what happens. It's just a basketball game, not a zero sum game!

Not our job to make your schedule interesting. And for the many Mountaineer fans in the Huntington area, WVU still plays a game or two in Charleston to afford them the opportunity to see the premier team in the state.

You'd rather see WVU-WCU as opposed to WVU-MU? That makes no sense!

I love watching Danny boy wallowing in the consequences of his "D'Antoni Doctrine". That must have been a hard lesson for a glorified high school coach, and a mistake he undoubtedly wouldn't make again.

Make no mistake, the WVU/MU sports series would still be going on in both revenue sports were it not for the disrespectful public displays of MU's administration and coaching staffs along with trying to bargain those series as if a peer. In reality, MU tried to elevate their program believing WVU somehow "owed" it to them to sacrifice their status.....along with being a-holes in public forums against WVU. Learn your place, and I'm sure you would have an amiable bargaining partner. I believe WVU has earned that.

It's just a basketball game , not a zero sum game! Is " The Prince" required reading at WVU? Must be as far as I can tell from chatting with you boys! We've thumped your asses before and the world didn't come to an end.

It takes something special in a person to simply admit that they're scared.

Not sure about you Tony, but I would actually respect the cousins more if they would simply call it for what it truly is. Shoot, I know people that are afraid of spiders and snakes. I too am afraid of snakes. I would never state that the snake called me bad names, so I no longer want to have anything to do with the snake. I'm just honest and can tell you that I'm afraid of losing a one on one battle with the snake.

Admission of honesty would go along way here. I don't expect it though, as I've read the disingenious excuses for many years now.

That's all we hear is disingenuous nonsense...from the RPI garbage to the " we make more money playing WCU" and of course the fantasy of Danny " disrespected us" by suggesting home and home. How dare MU make a suggestion of that type "as if their an equal" and then turn around and claim we disrespected them. I agree...why go through the gyrations...just say your scared!

In Huggins 10 years at WVU he's won 227 games, made the NCAA tournament in 8 of those years, including 3 Sweet Sixteens and a trip to the Final Four. This year he led his team to beat the #1 and #2 teams in the same week.....................and you think he's afraid of a program that hasn't made the Big Dance since Reagan was President.

What do they put in the water in Herdzakistan ?
