i guess it just seemed like the right thing to say. but one thing i don't get is if Howard is our guy, and it's not even close, then why the hell have him still playing in the 4th quarter of a blowout? he took a shot and as tough as he is it affected him. so why not throw Crest in a bit earlier or even Sills since it looks like Dana is going to play him now. getting a read on either of those two would be a good thing if Howard doesn't answer the bell down the road.

Next season 9/11 starters return on offense. 4/11 on defense.

Right now, I don't see how next season has more potential than did 2012, 2014 or 2015.

The D will be toast & the O has a ways to go, in my opinion.

But I will say this, I think next season Howard will be better, more poised by experience & less turnover prone. People touted this season as that year 1 to year 2 progression you'd see when really this is his first true year at the helm as the week-to-week starter. Until proven otherwise by real in-game results from other QBs on this roster - and not recruiting, practice, or camp hype - yes, the job is indeed still Howard's. Today he didn't hurt himself nor the team: 330 total yards, 4 TDs. No real evidence a QB change is coming or that it would lead to an uptick in performance. The back-ups are seeing more time at WR than anything else. Crest is not the QB they thought he was.

Schedule for '16 has Missouri (home) and BYU (at Redskins). On the road at Okla State, TT & TX. Getting OU, Bay, TCU & K-State at home seems more favorable, but it's still a big challenge. Looking at the recent home record too, all bets are off there in chalking up would-be Ws.

This all may be getting ahead though. November need reverse this losing skid or expect a change at the top.
