The Baltimore Sun ...

The most amazing stat was the 18,000 no-shows at the game.

18,000? I'd say MD's AD pulled a Pitt on that announced attendance...

Agreed this was likely a Pitt-like scenario; they probably sold 36K tickets (including students) total for the game......less 18,000 no shows = 18,000 in the stadium (maybe). Keep in mind a majority of the "crowd" was probably seated on the press box side (and out of this photo) of Byrd.

The Terps were flagged 12 times for 120 yards in their victory, the penalties ranging from infractions along the offensive line to personal fouls and an ejection.

I hope they bring that same lack of discipline to MPS on Saturday.

I said a couple of weeks ago that we're gonna put a hurt-knot on the Twerps.

Sky will flirt with 400 yards passing and our defense will cause at least three turnovers.

Attendance or the lack of is a problem across the board. Even a lot of "major games" have thousands of empty seats. The NE vs Miami game was 1/2 full or 1/2 empty depending on how you want to look at it. Miami doesn't draw well any longer, but for a big game this was ridiculous.
I watched a lot of games the past 3 weeks and if it wasn't SEC vs SEC there where a lot of empty seats at every game.

Too much TV and too much $$$ to go to a game.

NFL owners did that to themselves.

I was driving back from vacation last Saturday and listened to the game on the Maryland network (XM radio). Scott Mcbrien and some other guy were still complaining about Josh Lambert moving forward before the game winning field goal. Said WVU should have been penalized.

That's fine with me.....if somebody in that game cheated to win, I'd rather my team be the winner.

That picture looks like every other ACC team other than FSU or Clemson. It's not difficult to see where they belong.

College football can best be enjoyed from your own living room. If you go to the game you gotta put up with unruly fans who are masquerading as rednecks. Heck, at the game you can't even see Holgs as he puts on his sideline show. Also, have you tried to actually purchase a ticket these days? All the decent seats are allocated to the rich and famous. The true fans are relegated to the nose bleed sections where they are pay thru the nose and can't even see the game. I know this because I have been there!

Well, they were right. For once, we simply benefitted from the officials inexplicably going blind for a second.

There are some games that you have to attend in person. I was at the final WVU/Pitt game a couple of years back and was happy I didn't stay at the house to watch it on TV. Being there was a great experience and was well worth the effort.

Seeing the Mountaineers with a cold beer in hand sweetened the victory along with singing Country Roads; something you can't appreciate from you couch. If only they had great pickles...

I used to go to every home game, mostly because they were only on TV once or twice, now I enjoy one or two games a year and watch the rest on TV and even usually listen only to the radio for one. I tell ya one thing, if they tested me on what happened, I know more after radio only than watching on TV1

They were correct. He should have been flagged. But, he wasn't and we won. So screw them.
