But something I will share right now is regardless, Brophy plans to play baseball next year whether that's in the MLB if he gets drafted (this year's draft will be shortened) or with West Virginia.

"I think not playing baseball, that's not an option for me. It's been my life and it has been since I could walk. And I told my dad this, there's no way I can call it quits on that (the season being suspended due to COVID-19)."

"No matter what, I need to play another year so it's a win-win for me."

Sabins also said that all three seniors (Brophy, Braden Zarbnisky and Dillon Meadows) will be welcomed back, but these players haven't made their decisions yet and what happens with the MLB Draft will be a factor.

"We cherish guys that have been in the fire and wanted to be here and led our team."

"Those guys will absolutely be taken care of. They absolutely have a spot on this roster. We want them back. Way too early to tell what's going to happen."
