A couple of billionaires in Texas are publicly pushing for Houston to be added whether anyone else is or not. One is on the Houston BOG and the other is a major UT supporter. Follow the money? (I posted the details and a link on another thread)

We should welcome this type team. The Big needs some new cellar dwellers and WV needs some whipping boys!
Are you sure? Last year Houston went 13-1 by beating four top 25 teams including #9 FSU by two touchdowns in the Peach Bowl. Cellar dweller in the B12 and whipping boy for WVU? Check it out here.
I haven't researched the other dynamics, but UH is the most powerful team being considered by far.
Somebody's got to be the 'whipping boy' and I am tired of WV being the cellar dwellers. We pay Holgs good money! Let's put Houston in the barrel. If they don't wanna play there, then we take Cincinnati instead. Dadgummit!
Why not take both? Despite personal biases by some on this board, UH finished #8 in both the AP and Coaches' Polls after last season. That was barely behind Oklahoma and TCU. Had they been 13-1 as a member of the Big 12 they may have made the playoffs.
I knew almost nothing about Houston before today when things were said that made me check. These guys are for real. They have 32,000 students and a new 40,000 seat stadium with the foundation already there to expand to 60,000. Don't be surprised at anything or if nothing at all happens with the B12 starting on Tuesday.

Well................Houston is a Texas team................which gives them access to recruits from the Lone Star state. Adding Houston to the Big gives WV fans access to another 1500 mile commute.
